They were 21 yards away as opposed to 2. 

Also, they know how their offense performs. They can breath easy & cruise. Our offense can't play from behind, so we need TD's every chance we get.

Uh doubtful.  Breaking a leg is not a career ending injury.  In fact, its a better injury to suffer than a torn knee ligament.  Much quicker recovery time.
