The NFL and NFLPA have jointly reviewed the application of the Concussion Protocol to Russell Wilson.  The results of the joint review determined there was a failure in the application of the protocol following the tackle of Mr. Wilson during the Seahawks-Cardinals game on November 9.

As a result, Seattle has been fined $100,000 and the coaching and medical staffs will be required to attend remedial training regarding the protocol.

$100K isn’t much of a fine for a team.  It will be interesting to see what they give Houston for letting Savage back on the field

There is also no consistency with their punishments. I bet Houston gets a slap on the wrist and told not to do it again.

First you have to ID what each did wrong. You can follow the system and mess up. You can’t skirt the system intentionally.

He didn't know why he was coming out of the game?? He realizes god doesn't enjoy lying.

Yeah, flipping the tent over himself then coming out 5 seconds later like a drunken idiots magic trick was the correct way to conduct the "concussion protocol."

Huh?  No if both did the same violation they get the same punishment. But then again this is the NFL so they probably go with whoever is cared less about gets the less penalty.

Or if savage genuinely slipped through but Wilson was never even tested despite being put in the protocol then maybe the follow up should be different

what tests were each given and howd thet perform? As a fan we don’t know much of the behind the scenes.

Or one could make a completely legal football play (imo) and get the same suspension as another guy who jumps off the top rope 5 seconds after the play is over and clobbers a unsuspecting player from behind on the back of the head with his elbow brace.

It’s unbelievable to me that this wasn’t made a bigger deal.  1 game.  What a joke the nfl is.

on topic: I agree with you completely

The NFL needs to focus on player safety, the fine was not big enough IMO. 100k? That's it? The future of the game depends on protecting the players as much as possible, not to mention protecting the players is the right thing to do. Nobody wants to see players struggling with dementia and remembering their own names when they're 50. It's a violent game but the NFL clearly doesn't give a **** about player safety. You look at what happened with Gronk, a 1 game suspension? Not to mention the lengthy list of players that we're only suspended for 1 game after deliberate cheap shots. The NFL doesn't give a rats ass about it's employees.
