Don't think the Chargers game was a win no matter who the QB was.

Cincy or Carolina were both there for the taking and the Bills didn't take.

i dont know, shady moved the ball on the ground.  5 picks really you cant take away anything as evidence from what happened.  If we played them this week in LA, you think we lose easily???  Id think its a coin flip.

Cincy or Jets ... I can't decide.  But, being AFC teams, those are games we could/should have won.

The Carolina loss was tough, but they were the better team (although, their offense didn't play very well that day).

Losing to the Jets was ridiculous.  Getting our asses handed to us by them was pathetic.

Agree with this. And out of the 2, the Jets loss was the worst.

I normally don't watch any pre-game shows, but I did that night, and the Bills even had the "expert" analysts fooled, as a bunch of them were touting the Bills emergence to greatness, and saying they were "for real." Lol. Of course I was skeptical, and wanted to wait and see....17 years of experience will do that to you!

Well if you watched their defensive line absolutely manhandled our offensive line.... and nobody felt like tackling on defense.

I watched from the stands...

We were never beating the Chargers no matter who started. The Jets & Cinncy games were 2 we had to win. And maybe Carolina and the Zay drop?

I never mentioned the Chargers.  I did, however, mention Carolina.

I mean if we play the "what if" game...what if Von Miller doesn't get hit with that terrible unsportsmanlike call and we lose to the Broncos? Seasons play out the way they do. Win some you shouldn't and lose some that you should win.

This week is different than the week they played. Chargers were playing well and the Bills stunk for two games. Week to week league. I'd still take LAC to win in LA this week.

You know if we go 9-7 with this roster and lost on some bufoonish common opponents tiebreaker, oh well.

Strength of victory should be after Conference record, not common opponents.

Bills have .421 vs Ravens .321 in strength of victory.

Agreed on the SOV.    common opponents should only matter in division.

The team didn't show up for the Jets game.  Effort was suspect.  Afterwards, they were whining about the short week.  It was pathetic and embarrassing to watch.  That was the game which should haunt the players throughout the offseason.  You never take a game off, and I don't think they gave it a full effort.

The JEts game was the only game all year where I thought the team really didn't come to play.

Saints, Chargers, and Pats werre all just meeting with teams that were better. But to get manhandled by the Jets was terrible.

If we beat the Pats** and lose to the Fins causing us to miss the playoffs, I will lather myself in bacon oil and have my docile dog chew me out one bite at a time. To ease the pain.

scares the hell out of me that I have actually thought about this...not with respect to your dog, but the final two games...your dog would just help me escape this turmoil.

The Jets and Panthers for me personally. Deep down I just wanna say the offensive side of the ball and just point to that.

This will be super unpopular, but I'll state my opinion regardless.

I'm going to go with the Chargers game. Simply because it was a HUGE mistake to bench your starting QB while you're the 6th seed in the playoff race, and sitting at 5-4. The result was 5 INT's, which was 5 opportunities to score up to 35 points, with a loss differential of 30 points. A lot of folks pulled for Peterman to start, which I don't understand, because you bet on the horse that got you to that point in the first place. Instead, we took a blowout loss that no one knows how it would have turned out, and went back to the good 'ole Bills QB carousel that we know too well.

To those saying we would have lost, you don't know that, nor do I. TOP was 36:05 for the Chargers, and the 5 interception performance had a lot to do with that. When your defense is on the field for 2/3 the game, they are going to get tired and start giving up points.

Peterman should have never been put on the field, until the Bills were out of playoff contention. At that point, you put him in to see what you have in the rookie. You don't get weak in the knees 9 games into the season, and start messing with consistency.

Even with Joe Montana at QB we were not winning that game. It's the only thing McD has done this season that had me shaking my head. Starting Peterman with our below average O-Line vs the top D- Line in the NFL is nuts. But then you look at the way Taylor played vs the Saints and Jets going into that Chargers game and you have yourself a no win situation. Plus Lynn knows all of Taylor's weaknesses and could easily emulate what the Jets defense did to Taylor. Peterman starting that game was a 50/50 call I guess.

I have been forever burned by Drew Bledsoe vs Steelers to end the 2004 season.

Name the loss that you think had the biggest impact.

The way I see the next 2 weeks, it looks to me like we realistically lose a head-to-head with the Chargers for the 6th seed based on remaining schedules.  So one could say that the loss to the Chargers was the biggest.  After all, McDermott decided to start Peterman over Taylor in that game and he shat the bed.

But to me, the loss to the Jets on Thursday Night Football was the one.  We were so unprepared for that game - it looked like at 5-2 we believed that we'd win if we just showed up.  And that began our 3-straight-blowout-loss downfall.  But the other 2 were against teams that ended up in the playoffs (in this scenario) and were at least semi-expected.  I do believe that we SHOULD have beaten the Jets that night, and Tyrod DID start that one.

The other huge loss to directly cause us to miss the playoffs in this scenario was Tennessee losing to San Fran on that last second field goal last Sunday.  We would win a 3-way tie at 9-7 including Tennessee.

I'm not giving up on this year - stranger things have happened than San Diego losing to the Jets or Oakland, or Tennessee beating the Rams or Jags, or even us beating New England.

The decision to start Peterman was worse......probably would win the worst coaches decision in the NFL in 2017 in a popular vote........but the Jets loss was the greatest impact.

The Jordan Matthews fumble after Tyrod had nearly converted back-to-back second and 20's on that drive.....and the subsequent poor ultra-conservative playcalling(run it-run it-punt it) on the next series, which was to start the second half, were really deflating.   The naturally fatigued defense totally quit right then and there and they didn't resurface again until Tyrod got put back in the lineup in the San Diego game.   That Jets game was totally on the gameday coaching, you can't try to play not to lose on the road on 3 days rest, you gotta' be aggressive and try to get the game over early.
