Ten people who matter most in Week 16

9. LeSean McCoy, Bills running back

On the fringe of the AFC playoff picture, Buffalo's mission is dire: Sneak into Foxborough and steal a win from the division-bully Patriots. For that to happen, a big-time performance is needed from McCoy, who plowed for 93 yards at 6.0 yards per tote in a Week 13 loss to Belichick and friends. His weekly box scores can look underwhelming, but Shady on tape remains a player who runs hard and plays a major role in the passing game. Buffalo's offense is a tough watch, but it looked good in Week 15 controlling the line of scrimmage against a Dolphins team that flattened the Pats two Mondays ago. With the Bills close to extinction, McCoy is the man to stave off death for one more week.

Injuries: Benjamin (knee) returns to Bills practice

Quote

Kelvin Benjamin is back on the practice field for the Buffalo Bills.

The wide receiver, who sat out practice on Wednesday because of a knee injury, took part in practice on Thursday.

It remains to be seen if Benjamin will play in Sunday's AFC East duel with the New England Patriots. NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reported on Good Morning Football that Benjamin likely will need surgery this offseason to fix the issue. Garafolo characterized Benjamin's status as questionable for this week's game, which is laden with playoff implications for the Bills.

Well, there are two weeks to go in the regular season, so 7ABC's Joe Buscaglia and Matthew Fairburn of NYUpstate.com talked about the upcoming game with the Patriots, another reason to add to Sean McDermott's positives for the year, why the Pro Bowl is asinine, and what different things the Bills can do to defend Rob Gronkowski.

any tiny, remote chance we have at winning will be largely impacted by having EJ suited up...so hopefully!

whenever people refer to him as “EJ”, I still think of EJ Manuel :D

Week 16 -- what used to be the close of the regular season has become the final playoff maelstrom for the wannabes. Despite being so late in the season, no less than 13 of the 16 games carry some level of postseason weight. Whether these contests feature teams like the Lions and Cowboys (who are trying to run the table and get help) or outfits like the Jags, Eagles and Patriots (still duking it out over seeding), the results matter. All of which serves to make this weekend more important than Week 17, when most of the eggs are already scrambled.

Who would not be shocked if we beat the Patriots and then lost to the Dolphins? Just seems too Billsy.
