This makes no sense....How can we trade before free agency ...the trade window for league does not start til March 14 the same day free agency begins,

March 12-14 Clubs are permitted to contact, and enter into contract negotiations with, the certified agents of players who will become Unrestricted Free Agents upon the expiration of their 2017 player contracts at 4:00 p.m., New York time, on March 14. However, a contract cannot be executed with a new club until 4:00 p.m., New York time, on March 14.
March 14 Trading period for 2018 begins at 4:00 p.m., New York time, after expiration of all 2017 contracts.

Why let facts get in the way of a good story?

If it's something like Tyrod & Cordy then maybe the rest is just a pick swap. Something like

Washington gets Tyrod, Glenn, and our later 1st

Buffalo gets Cousins and their 3rd

wouldn't be awful.

It wouldn't be terrible.  I'd be a bit surprised if a trade involved a player swap simply because more trades involve draft choices for players.  Of course, Cousins is playing on a franchise tag at the moment, so unless he signs a deal, he is a free agent.  He's got to feel ticked off at Washington for the way they've handled him the last couple years instead of giving him a long term deal.  Moreover, he has to know he's not in their long term plans.  Those truths beg the question, why would he ever sign a long term deal with Washington knowing it's a sign and trade deal?  Why not just force their hand?  I don't know if they're even allowed to trade a franchised player.  The Redskins might just decide it's not worth the risk and the cost of franchising him again.

I’m not validating the OP’s claims, however, teams are at liberty to have “discussions” prior to the draft/FA period.

I see this Cousins situation as plausible.  Still don’t understand the WNY connection though.

No wonder someone is getting fired.

Making FA deals before they are legal.

The Bills cannot talk to a player or his agent under contract but our GM can talk to another GM anytime.  (my guess)

I just can’t do it.  I can’t watch a couple of years of Kirk Cousins.  It will kill me.

Cousins would be the best QB we’ve had here by a mile since Jimbo.

We would be immediate contenders.

You have been fair minded.  I will get you the information but my posts will be as specific as possible to avoid the fraud comments.  I had this stadium information last week but I wanted to confirm some details before I posted to site.  Many phone calls and email to be reviewed to connect the dots.

Great, appreciate your being specific. So what town will the new stadium be built in?

And you're reporting that we're tampering with Cousins?

London and Frankfurt, too, if I'm not mistaken.

I like the sound of Dave and Buster's Stadium, good for families and drinking.

So we are planning to overpay to get Cousins and then overpay to keep him?! I'm in!!

Seems very Billsie ;)

Why would this even happen unless Beane is in life long concussion protocol? ;)

Alex Smith will be available and cheaper.(he is the same QB only older)

Didn't we trade for McCoy well before the beginning of free agency? Thought we did.. could be wrong..

That trade was agreed to (3/3/15) 1 week before the league year began (3/10/15).

If the Bills were smart, they would work out a deal with the county to keep the field house and outdoor practice fields where they are.  Close proximity for most coaches and players.  Keep the big tree inn going strong.  No need for them to be adjacent to the stadium.  Of course the stadium won't be too far away in Lancaster....follow the money.  My deep sources tell me there will be a new fan experience complete with interactive exhibits including setting yourself on fire,  jumping on to tables, beer funnels, how to sneak booze into the stadium, dizzy bat inside a glass maze, etc...   This will be an adult only area to counteract any family friendly nonsense.  Deep Throat Donnie is just throwing crap at the wall and seeing what sticks.  If you follow his nonsense closely, he changes direction more than a weather vane.

LMAO you forgot the pre game sex area ;)

Wheres the evidence for that? You mean like the Washington Redskins are?  You do realise they are 6-8 this season, right?

The Redskins through 60 games with Cousins are 27-30-1 and they have paid hime $54 million these past 2 seasons and they haven’t made/wont make the playoffs.

But yea, the Bills would be immediate contenders.

You don’t think they would be with a competent qb ?

Could have changed the Cincy, Ne, Carolina outcomes without terrible Taylor.

If Cousins is the reason the Redskins aren't making the playoffs, then it's like saying Drew Brees was the reason the Saints didn't make it for 3 seasons.

We are 8-6 with terrible QB play.  You don't think good QB play doesn't make any difference?
