Fadingpain Posted December 15, 2017 Posted December 15, 2017 Fergy! Please remember that boat safety is very important. Be sure to shop for a model that has a proper guard rail at the bow. Something like this is ideal. 1
BringBackFergy Posted December 15, 2017 Author Posted December 15, 2017 The deck is nice...looks sturdy. Safety is another important factor. Important to have some padding in the bow if the boat rocks. Good thought.
frostbitmic Posted December 15, 2017 Posted December 15, 2017 With the first boat I'd like to see how the control deck responds out on the high seas before purchasing.

Not sure what everyone's thoughts are on this type of equipment. Feel free to comment as I start my search. Look at the size of the wheel she is working. Forget her disjointed head....is that intimidating? Edited December 15, 2017 by Augie
Augie Posted December 15, 2017 Posted December 15, 2017 (edited) On a side note: I financed countless boats as a banker living in coastal communities for decades. I saw lists of included “equipment” but this is a revelation. None of that was on the list. Now I know why guys were so hot to buy, but then so eager to sell......or just stop making payments. This is a really good point. It is always extremely important to take a given model out for an extensive test ride before purchase. We are talking about an important investment and it might even be the only purchase of this type made in your lifetime. Important to get it right. Remember the fundamentals: practicality combined with day-to-day livability, but combined with that ability to give you a thrill when you are really in the mood to drop the hammer and go for it. And it's important to have it designed the right way. You want an impressive bow, curvy lines, and a nice tight stern. Generally speaking, the faster the model, the better. 1

I prefer to keep my hands busy while boating and there’s nothing better than having a couple knobs there to pass the time.
