Foreigner Posted December 12, 2017 Posted December 12, 2017 Points scored for and against on all NFL 7-6 teams games this year Buffalo -50 Baltimore +72 Kansas City +40 LA Chargers +73 Dallas +22 Detroit + 9 Green Bay -17 Does this mean Baltimore is 122 points better than us. Of course not. But maybe it does. What do you guys think?
Foreigner Posted December 12, 2017 Author Posted December 12, 2017 Somebody must think it means something, as its quoted on every NFL Standings that you see all season long.
Dafan Posted December 12, 2017 Posted December 12, 2017 I think it is one of, if not, the last tie breaker which has rarely been used.
26CornerBlitz Posted December 12, 2017 Posted December 12, 2017 Losing games by scores of 47-10 and 54-24 will do that.
LeGOATski Posted December 12, 2017 Posted December 12, 2017 It's a really bad sign. The Bills have won some close games, but got completely blown out in others. Its a reflection of how bad their offense is. 1
Fadingpain Posted December 12, 2017 Posted December 12, 2017 It means with the exception of Green Bay, we are not of the same quality as the other teams on the list. IN some cases, by a lot. It's because our record is artificially inflated. That is due to the crazy and unsustainable turnover differential in the first part of our season. That data says we are lucky to have the record we do.

It means our offense has been anemic compared to most other teams or that the teams we have faced are just that good and we are more than fortunate to be 7-6. The stats are a bit inflated by the Saints and Chargers games though.
ddaryl Posted December 12, 2017 Posted December 12, 2017 Simply means we imploded for a few games All that matters is if we can pull it back together 1
Buffalo_Gal Posted December 12, 2017 Posted December 12, 2017 To me it means we sucked big time for 3 games, and the rest of them beat up on weaker opponents while not winning the close ones. But, without going over the games and finals, that is just supposition.
Sammy Watkins' Rib Posted December 12, 2017 Posted December 12, 2017 It just means we crapped the bed on our 3 week hiatus from football.
SoCal Deek Posted December 12, 2017 Posted December 12, 2017 The Patriots lost to the Dolphins last night. Does that mean the Fins are better?
Foreigner Posted December 12, 2017 Author Posted December 12, 2017 They were last night. These games are not played by computer or analytics. They are played with humans who for whatever reasons either play with (a lot of) emotion or not, and why it is so hard to go 16-0, and why Vegas makes a fortune from gamblers who think they know the results beforehand.
Boatdrinks Posted December 12, 2017 Posted December 12, 2017 The Bills have allowed points at a rate close to the AFC average. The offensive output , on the other hand has been putrid. In Conference the Bills have scored more than only the Dolphins, Broncos, Bengals and Browns. League wide they've outscored only 8 teams. So it shows that the Bills have a terrible offense that is firmly bottom ten in the NFL. That's not surprising given the lack of talent, questionable offensive scheme and mediocre to bad quarterbacking. 15 minutes ago, SoCal Deek said: The Patriots lost to the Dolphins last night. Does that mean the Fins are better? Games are usually about matchups. The Dolphins match up well to the Patriots weaknesses. The Bills do not.
WickedGame Posted December 12, 2017 Posted December 12, 2017 It means nothing. Six weeks ago we had one of the best point differentials in the league. It means we played one one of the most high-powered offenses in the league in the Saints (and didn't come close to matching their output). It means we didn't get to play the Browns twice like some teams. It means we played the anemic Colts in the snow and the game was closer than it should have been. It means our defense whiffed sometimes, our offense whiffed others, both whiffed simultaneously a few times, and we've never had them both on fire simultaneously. Yeah, it'd be great if we had a stellar O and a stellar D. What team wouldn't? Most teams don't get that wish, which means you have to make strategic choices (limited draft resources + salary cap = you can't have it all). In the end, crushing opponents with a juggernaut isn't what's necessary to win. All that matters is the W. The choices you make about where to invest in your team -- O or D -- need to add up to just enough to outscore your opponents more often than not. Strength of victory almost never matters.
nedboy7 Posted December 12, 2017 Posted December 12, 2017 So you are saying it might make a difference but also it might not.
Tuco Posted December 12, 2017 Posted December 12, 2017 I don't know what it means. What does this mean? - _____________Pt Dif_________Strength Of Victory_________ Buffalo -50------------------------------.407 Baltimore +72-----------------------------.385 Kansas City +40-----------------------------.516 LA Chargers +73-----------------------------.341 Dallas +22-----------------------------.330 Detroit + 9------------------------------.363 Green Bay -17------------------------------.352
Royale with Cheese Posted December 12, 2017 Posted December 12, 2017 I guess we need to win 50-0 this week to break even.
