He really hasn't shown anything all year, why is the board suddenly anointing him king playmaker?? I think he's made some other "contested" catches this year. Also, he's a solid blocker. 9 minutes ago, billsfan11 said: Here Is the weird part. Jones sucks the first like 8 games of the year but they continue to play him over Thompson. Jones finally looks like he is coming around as a player the past few weeks, and now they demote him?... Why wouldn't they do this earlier in the year if anything? this is hard to figure out. Are we sure Jones has been demoted? Could he be the slot guy with KB and DT on the outside. Hard to figure out the passing game WR wise after yesterday!

Mat68 Posted December 11, 2017 Posted December 11, 2017 Hard to demote him when he will be starting with Thompson if Benjamin cant go.
Brianmoorman4jesus Posted December 11, 2017 Posted December 11, 2017 I think there are times where DT looks like the most professional WR on the team. He just looks the part and seems to make tough catches. Kind of like the good WRs on most every other team does. It’s sad that a guy like that borderline stands out.
Jamie Muellers Ghost Posted December 11, 2017 Posted December 11, 2017 Fake news, the Bills played with a FB much of the game yesterday, Jones was the player to go to the sidelines.

So, how does yesterday mean anything at all to the depth chart going forward? Hint: it doesn't. Fake fake news reporting.

I focused on him a few times -in the game and on the sidelines. So was a lot of guys in that blizzard yesterday was not a day to be overly critical 1
26CornerBlitz Posted December 11, 2017 Posted December 11, 2017 Mike Rodak ESPN Staff Writer Bills offensive coordinator Rick Dennison said Monday he anticipates wide receivers Deonte Thompson and Zay Jones splitting time moving forward based on game plan. Thompson started Sunday opposite Kelvin Benjamin, playing 85 percent of snaps. Jones, who began as the No. 3/slot receiver, played 61 percent of snaps and saw his role elevated when Benjamin left in the second half twice with a knee injury.
Sweats Posted December 11, 2017 Posted December 11, 2017 Zay will eventually fall into the BIlls dustbin of defeat and despair, have some lacklustre seasons on the roster and then demand a trade to a team that actually knows how to utilize his talents. Meanwhile, back in Buffalo...........

Hard to keep Thompson off the field when all he seems to do is make plays. Hopefully Zay keeps his head up and keeps progressing. I still say he's going to be a heckuva player.
Chadwick Bay Chad Posted December 12, 2017 Posted December 12, 2017 Zay jones will be all pro in this league. Rough start yes but he has got his legs underneath now and will only get better. He is like Eric mounds. Next year watch out when Kirk cousin is throwing to him
Utah John Posted December 12, 2017 Posted December 12, 2017 ZJ is not a speed guy or great after the catch, but he does know how to get open and in the past had very good hands. I think in time we'll see we've found the next Bobby Chandler -- and if you don't know who that is, all I can say is you missed a lot of great Bills games before you were born.
Magox Posted December 12, 2017 Posted December 12, 2017 Zay does struggle to get separation against top tiered DB's. I'm hoping route running can help with that, but more than anything I'm hoping he becomes the slot receiver and we end up drafting or picking up a true #2 to go along with him and Benjamin.

What about the "tyrods too short debate" vs mayfields height? I think it's gonna be the best QB on the board when we get to our first pick in the first round, whether that's ours or KC's. I think we need the other first rounder for ... well, fill in the blank. WR, LB, DL, OL, CB. Basically the only position on the team that doesn't need more good players is RB and even then we should be looking for Shady to start losing it. So I don't think we can package a lot of draft picks to move up a couple of slots. I'm not sold on Mayfield, who seems to be a good cog in a great machine and not necessarily a great QB on his own.

This team still lacks the true burner that gets behind the defense....need at least one good one on the team. Thompson is the closest thing. You mean someone like Marquis Goodwin?

Right. I guess well see as its gonna be beanes 1st draft running things. It should tell us if he lets the board come to him or trades up for who he wants.
Big Turk Posted December 12, 2017 Posted December 12, 2017 Deonte has had two big plays which directly led to us winning both this past game abd the TB game. Zay has had like zero. Hard to argue with that. Although I'd still like to know why Thompson can't get much separation deep when he runs a 4.3 40...he's faster than Watkins but Watkins gets way more open than him.
