Peterman - Bad Passes vs. Catchable Passes

I had to listen to the game on the radio today.

 

My question is specific to the "catchability" of Peterman's passes.  It sounded like a good percentage of his incompletions could have been caught.

 

This isn't meant to be a criticism to the receivers.  I simply would like to know if he threw good passes.  Obviously, with the weather they were enjoying, nothing was easy.

He had one that was a little high that wasn't caught and a few others I can understand the receivers dropping with how crap the visibility was but he could have had 2-3 more completions.

Every pass hit the WR in the hands except one and that was a good break up by the DB.

I think it's tough to judge anyone's performance fairly today. All we can take from this game is a win.

He looked very comfortable out there considering the circumstances.  Every ball was on the money except the cross to clay, which was a little high but could have been caught from what I remember

I think most of Peterman's passes were catchable under ordinary circumstances.  Like every QB he threw some passes that receivers had to stretch or jump, or adjust to in some way.  The weather being what it was, I can't be too hard on a receiver for not making an otherwise makeable reception.

I’d say nearly every pass was on target and the first 5 or so passes were on the hands and dropped

I hate how a spike to stop the clock counts as an incompletion too. That was one of his 5 incompletions. The other 4 all hit the receivers in the hands. Only one was a little high but still catchable.

His worst pass hit Clay in the hands, just a little too high. I thought he had a really good day for whatever that's worth on 10 passes in the snow.

Hard to lay blame with the conditions today. In a normal game, those passes should have been caught. Ball hits you in the palms within your catch radius, you bring that catch in. I am glad there wasnt a Colt behind Clay because of the way it bounced off his hands it would have been an easy INT

Hope Nate's OK to play in a week or two and in better conditions, although that was a fun game to watch IMO.

I agree and judging isn't my goal.  I just want to know if he threw accurate passes.

I am impressed with the ball placement in awful conditions.  At the very least it should show people he does have the arm and hands to handle poor weather.

He did, his passes were accurate today despite the conditions.

Peterman is so frustrating to watch because hes making aggressive mistakes that you feel he should know better than.  At least he was much more careful and willing to take sacks this game instead of just flinging it up.  Lets hope he learns just as quickly from this and doesn't put his body at risk.
