Brady, after 15 games threw for 2800 yards, 18 TDs and 12 ints.

Keep going, you're digging deeper!

We're talking about before brady, numbnuts.

Just bringing to light the fact that McDermott wasn't handed this entire roster.   He is partly responsible for this existing mediocre roster.

Can't put 100% of the blame on his predecessor and/or other people.

Well, since you're going that direction let's talk about who they brought in:

Poyer

Hyde

Gaines

Benjamin

Jones

Dawkins

Milano

Seems to me the majority of the players they've added are pretty solid pieces, as opposed to the previous regime's leftovers.

You know what, you're right.

Why was I thinking 2000?

Meh.

Because the 2000 Pats were a lot like this Bills team. A seasons worth of team evaluation and stripping the roster. Not fery entertaining to watch

Is there a higher honor than exchanging pleasantries in passing?

I aspire to such blessings. Never to be found. Must be the luck of the Irish for McD

2 SB rings as a DC with the Giants....and he brought the Browns to the playoffs...the Browns !!...let that sink in.....he should have won coach of the year for that alone !!

Did you miss the part in the first sentence that states HC? Yeah he took them to the playoffs, in his 4th season. He averaged 6 wins a season the other 4. He went 5-11 his first year with the Pats and then got Brady.  How about giving McD the same opportunity.

Agree.  I like this guy. Let's give him a chance.

He also set the foundation for thebRafens. Ozzie Newsome credits BB for there beginning success.  He created the scouting system they still use.

Then he was 7-9 twice and then 11-5 and won a playoff game with a QB combo of Testaverde and Rypien.

Then he went 5-11with Bledsoe on the pats.

Then he won a SB in Brady's first year as starter (form the majority of the season).  Brady had little to do with that SB season.

This argument gets repeated by posters who are unfamiliar with what Bellichick really did before "Brady".

Dude? Where in your response does any of those accomplishments ( outside of the 11-5 season and playoff appearance ) seem spectacular to you? Outside that one playoff season you’re hailing and praising a HC that averaged 6 wins in 5 seasons of coaching.

You know what, Belichick is a genius. Not just a genius, he’s possibly a Jedi master. He has everyone believing that he came into this world with a Lombardi trophy in his hand.

You should ask the guy who claimed the roster was mediocre.

But since you asked.

Here are some more to add to your list:

Cedric Thorton

Eddie Yarbrough

Nathan Peterman

Tolbert

Ducasse

Jordan Mathews

Humber

Cadet

Davis

Joe Webb

How many of those players on your list and this one are better than average?

There are 3 really good additions to the roster this year:

Tre White

Hyde

Hauschka

The rest of the roster changes = mediocre talent at best so far - time will tell

And let's not forget Mr. McDermott is also directly responsible for bringing in Juan Castillo and Rick Dennison.  (very, very slow clap)

It appeared to me that McD brought it up to BB first.  The way it looked, the hoodie was looking for a quick hand shake and walk to the locker room.  His response was commendable, but I’m not so sure if he would have apologized to McD (or even mentioned the situation) if it wasn’t brought up to him first.

Poyer is FAR from average. Benjamin, as well. Milano is going to be a solid starter for us, and Gaines as well (i believe they'll bring him back.) Dennison was McDermott's third choice, and I think he'll be shown the door.

You don't like what you've seen from Cadet?

I think your being a little narrow minded on what Belichick has accomplished and what his history is about. Might want to do a little research.

No where does it say spectacular....because no on has claimed he was spectacular in Cleveland, straw man killer.

He greatly improved a bad team with the few scraps he had and won a playoff game.

Well Gaines and Benjamin love injuries apparently.   They will have to be healthy for a while to prove they are above average - so far nope.   Poyer?   Maybe - maybe not.   Had a few good games earlier this year.   Haven't seen him making many plays as of late.   If he is above average, it ain't by much.   Milano - maybe - as of now average.  Couple plays here and there - otherwise - average.   Cadet?   Too early to tell for most of these guys.   Way too early to call them above average.   What does solid starter mean anyway other than average?

So, in your mind since it's too early to tell, hwo can you possibly make judgements on McDermott?
