Fadingpain Posted December 5, 2017 Posted December 5, 2017 Impossible to pick a single favorite bread. I do love a good ciabatta however.
plenzmd1 Posted December 5, 2017 Posted December 5, 2017 (edited) Not even close..DiCamillo Scarletta Italian. Never leave a trip to WNY without 7 loaves. Freezes great, and makes the absolute best toast you will ever have. https://www.dicamillobakery.com/collections/italian-scaletta-breads This is crazy expensive, like $5 a loaf at the bakery. For those that fly in, they have opened a bakery on Main St in Williamsville just a few minutes from the airport. Dont have to go into the Falls anymore. Edited December 5, 2017 by plenzmd1
Gugny Posted December 5, 2017 Posted December 5, 2017 For breakfast, I prefer rye toast. Villa's (Glens Falls, NY) Eye Talian bread with any Eye Talian entree. Rock Hill Bake House bread (South Glens Falls, NY) (they have many different varieties, but I like the pane bello, farmbread and sourdough the best) for any sandwich.
BringBackFergy Posted December 5, 2017 Posted December 5, 2017 I liken myself to my favorite Italian bread (soft in middle, crusty on outside). 1
Buffalo_Gal Posted December 5, 2017 Posted December 5, 2017 Mmmm bread. I like so many. If I had to choose just one, it would probably be.... sourdough. 1
teef Posted December 5, 2017 Posted December 5, 2017 like fading and gal said, it's really tough to choose. lately at our local farmers market, a bakery has been selling salt bread that's actually incredible. it's a simple idea, but i feel like i'm eating fried dough that's been doused in salt vs sugar. 1

I grew up in Lewiston and going for fresh bread from DiCamillo's was an almost daily routine - man, I miss those days...
teef Posted December 5, 2017 Posted December 5, 2017 i know it's a bit off topic, but while we're on bread, can we talk about how terrible easter bread is? every damn year i try some thinking i'm going to like it, and every year i'm just a bit more disappointed in myself for thinking so.
Augie Posted December 5, 2017 Posted December 5, 2017 The wife’s favorite restaurant in Atlanta (Canoe) has a great selection of breads they bring around. I usually go with the cranberry/nut bread and the flat bread. I think the entrees are probably good too, but I’m never hungry by then.

I had to Google this. Before this, I'd never heard of Easter bread and I'm a confirmed Catlick.
