I bet TT is gonna play it safe after his pick earlier.

If he doesn't run around like a maniac, he is much less effective.

Bad challenge but John Fox use to use a challenge once in awhile to slow the game down for the defense, I think McD knew it was unlikely to get a grounding call but it allowed his defense a chance to catch their breath and get set for a 3rd and 6. That INT by Tyrod was a killer but the defense looks like it can get a stop and the offense is moving the ball. Bills have a chance from what I have seen so far.

Why not just call the time out then? At least you could use it instead of losing a challenge and having it stripped away

It’s on the ref to talk to McDermott first about that challenge. Usually the ref will discuss the call enough so that the coach can understand the rule that was called there. The ref could easily say that the ball was incomplete because he tripped on his own guy. Then the coach knows whether to challenge.

That is the definition of grounding - inside the tackles and not past the LOS

That is not the entire definition. But it’s a moot point and I’ll just agree to disagree. The refs got it right, IMO.
