Let that first round QB sit for two years. And by all heck, get Eli an OL here. The Bills will have the draft capital and salary cap space to do so. Might be too much to ask as I really don't know if Eli has anything left in the tank and if he does he is certainly a better QB than Taylor. Also, I don't know if any 2018 QB's drafted can start right away. How far fetched is this idea?????? Or is it even possible? Yeah, kinda like ala Bledsoe
Buffalo Barbarian Posted December 3, 2017 Posted December 3, 2017 Eli needs lots of talent around him to succeed, if we can do that then yes if not then no.
Nihilarian Posted December 3, 2017 Posted December 3, 2017 No question Eli goes to Jacksonville and is back with Coughlin. They will run the ball, play great defense and ask Eli to manage the game. The current Giants coaches didn't set the offense up to suit Eli and it showed. McAdoo was Rex Ryan like in setting up "his" offense and like Rex is a big reason as to why he will be fired. Great coaches will initially find a way to get the most out of their players on the roster and slowly build the team the way they want. Square pegs into round holes will never work. Buffalo has been employing that same run-first philosophy the last few years and the difference is that things kept changing year after year. Greg Roman sets up a great rush offense that leads the league in rushing two years in a row. Now a new regime comes in and changes up the blocking scheme to now a middling rush offense with mostly the very same players. Even Marrone, Hackett got the Bills #2 in the league in rushing by running up the middle 70% of the time. On defense, they find a great defensive coordinator in Schwartz who was a perfect fit for the players on the roster and then hire a clown who wants to change from what worked so well. Just think that he was a man who thinks he can take a roster suited to run a 4-3 with some of the very best D linemen in the league. Then switch to a 3-2 while dropping those pro bowl D linemen into pass coverage instead of rushing the passer. Eli might initially work out in Buffalo but he is a declining player and the Bills already have a younger. cheaper game manager. They need the next Jim Kelly. To those that may not know it the Bills actually ran the ball more then they threw it in most of those great SB years. Thurman Thomas was about 70% of that offense back then.
