Mike32282 Posted September 6, 2004 Posted September 6, 2004 Practice Squad Peters is back so is Sobieski and others. Lauvale is back Indy!!!! 19914 WOO HOO! My man, Jason Peters is back. I'm also glad to see Fast Freddy and Drew Haddad too. Plus, it's nice to see Sobieski back. It tells you that they are going to work with him and develop him. Maybe after a while with McNally, he'll be ready to join the 53 man roster and Pukecillo could be cut.
Thailog80 Posted September 6, 2004 Author Posted September 6, 2004 I find it odd that we filled all eight spots already.
Mike32282 Posted September 6, 2004 Posted September 6, 2004 I find it odd that we filled all eight spots already. 19929 Me too...but i'm watching some current Practice Squads and a lot of people are keeping their own. Plus, there really wasn't anyone exciting out there. I guess it tells you how good the Bills did with the undrafted free agency and other things...
Amstel Posted September 6, 2004 Posted September 6, 2004 Just curious, didn't Haddad play with the Colts for a season or two? If that's the case was he not active for at least 9 games? I was surprised he was eligible to be on the practice squad.
BillsGuyInMalta Posted September 6, 2004 Posted September 6, 2004 Glad to see Jason Peters back with the Bills...and nice that Haddad is sticking around as well. I really do believe that Peters could develop into a monster TE in the NFL, he just needs some time to get his technique down.
stuckincincy Posted September 6, 2004 Posted September 6, 2004 I find it odd that we filled all eight spots already. 19929 A cynic might say they were too lazy to look around.
Rico Posted September 6, 2004 Posted September 6, 2004 I find it odd that we filled all eight spots already. 19929 Only makes sense to sign our own players, they know the system & Bills have invested time in them. Indy will be happy, GO LAUVALE!
IndyJay1234 Posted September 6, 2004 Posted September 6, 2004 Yeah Baby!! Re-order that Sape jersey!!
Mike32282 Posted September 6, 2004 Posted September 6, 2004 Can't wait to see cåblelady's response to Drew Haddad coming back again. She loved him...didn't she? Rico Posted September 6, 2004 Posted September 6, 2004 I guess Dominique's onto bigger & better things... wonder what happened there.
Mark VI Posted September 6, 2004 Posted September 6, 2004 Damn, I was hoping they'd re-sign Luke Lawton...oh well...

KOKBILLS Posted September 6, 2004 Posted September 6, 2004 I find it odd that we filled all eight spots already. 19929 I think with the extention of Dev. Squad to 8 Players, most Teams were looking to use it as nothing more than an extended Roster. I would not be surprised at all to find out that there is some sort of unofficial agreement between Teams to lay off Signing young Players who have been Cut, unless there is a big need due to injury. I think all Teams wanted to extend the PS due to the injury situation during the Season, and the need to have a couple extra Players to develop for the future. I think the whole system works better this way, especially if most Teams are not crouching in the bushes waiting for certain young Players to get released. I wonder if, with the Pre Season Injuries we continue to see, the NFL will move to allow a Player injured in the Pre Season to be put on the PUP List. The current rule, like the old 5 man Dev. Squad, seems too restrictive and unnecessary. Just a thought... B)
Nanker Posted September 6, 2004 Posted September 6, 2004 Damn, I was hoping they'd re-sign Luke Lawton...oh well... 19999 Me too. I just got back from a week in Europe and missed the last two games and all the cutdowns. Something tells me though the roster isn't quite settled just yet. IMHO PROJECTS WITH A CHANCE TO SEE LATE SEASON ACTION: Ben Sobieski OL PROJECTS WITH A SLIM CHANCE TO WARM THE BENCH LATE: Freddie Smith WR Drew Haddad WR Lauvale Sape DT PURE PROJECTS: Jason Peters TE Darryl Towns LB Greg Zolman QB Jasen Esposito OL

I've always thought of the PS as an extended roster, and maybe now there are eight allowed perhaps it'll be like that. What might put the brakes on a team claiming another team's player off the PS would be to let a team losing a player to claim any PS player from the team claiming their player. I would also like to see the rules for the PUP changed so it could be used instead of IR.

#89 Posted September 6, 2004 Posted September 6, 2004 I love the practice Squad. Jasen E is back (his parents are the coolest down to earth people). Sappe chews these GOD AWFUL nuts from Hawaii that are bitter tart things( I couldn't keep it in my mouth) and I'll stop with the non football thingys when I break my fingers. I think I'll E-mail Drew H. and see if he wants to join us after the game Sunday.
