Dafan Posted November 27, 2017 Posted November 27, 2017 So Bills bench a struggling Tyrod while in a playoff race and we're ridiculed for it. Now KC is in same boat with QB wise and they're (media) questioning if its time to start Mahommes.
Boatdrinks Posted November 27, 2017 Posted November 27, 2017 National media are clueless, but they actually pay attention to the Chiefs. They don't watch the Bills, hence they were baffled why Taylor might be sat down. 1

Kelly the Dog Posted November 27, 2017 Posted November 27, 2017 You don't see the difference in starting the tenth overall pick who was drafted to be the starter versus a fifth round pick with huge question marks? 1
Boatdrinks Posted November 27, 2017 Posted November 27, 2017 Well Alex Smith was a first round pick that has taken teams to the postseason and has won playoff games. Mahomes is a rookie first round pick with zero NFL passes under his belt, and was viewed as a good prospect with issues. Taylor was a sixth round draft pick and has starting experience. NP is a 5th round rookie with questionable arm strength and no experience but played in a WCO in college. It's more similar than you may want to admit. Smith should clearly be given a bigger benefit of the doubt than Tyrod Taylor who is playing in a system that he's not suited for and has no resume comparable to Smith.

Billsfan1972 Posted November 27, 2017 Posted November 27, 2017 The difference was Buffalo had lost 2 in a row vs. Jets and then NO...... KC has lost 5 of 6 with Smith struggling and a #1 selected with the idea he was going to succeed Smith and played very very well in the pre-season. 1 1

T-Bomb Posted November 27, 2017 Posted November 27, 2017 (edited) It's because Tyrod is black. Taking out a black QB and replacing with a white rookie is a big nono in the eyes of the liberal media (and ofc guys like Richard Sherman and Michael Bennett). KC has the reverse scenario, so it's ok. Edited November 27, 2017 by T-Bomb 1

It was controversial for sure, but not so crazy after a couple clunkers in a row (I was all for seeing what Peterman offered). What I do "mind" is those same media members (and fans) then losing their minds when McD went back to TT in the middle of last week. Talk about wanting it both ways, total hipocrites. You only get one side of an argument people.
buffaloboyinATL Posted November 27, 2017 Posted November 27, 2017 Actually, I was watching one of the national shows last night, and when they talked about our game, one of them asked about replacing Smith. The main guy (can't remember who) said "that would be even worse than what the Bills did. The Chiefs would be stupid to replace Alex Smith with a rookie, he is not their problem right now"

mjt328 Posted November 27, 2017 Posted November 27, 2017 Patrick Mahomes was taken with the #10 pick in the draft. He is expected to be a franchise quarterback. The whole purpose for Kansas City trading up to get him, was because many believed Alex Smith was holding back a potential Super Bowl contender from getting over the hump. And despite a red-hot start to the season, Smith has settled back into his expected role over the last 2 months. The Chiefs are struggling badly, mostly due to his missed throws. At this point, Andy Reid and the Chiefs can't just be content with a playoff spot. Their window is closing and they should be gunning for a championship. Nathan Peterman was taken in the 5th Round. Very few people outside of Buffalo actually believe Peterman will become a starter in the NFL. Most believe his ceiling is a good backup. And even though Tyrod Taylor was struggling badly at times this year, it's hard to call him the biggest reason for the Bills slide -- when the defense is letting up 40+ weekly and doesn't force a punt for nearly 2 full games. On top of that, the Bills were in prime position to break a 17-year playoff drought. While the ultimate goal should certainly be higher, I think it's vital for the morale of this team and city to just make the postseason. 1

Taylor should actually thank Peterman for taking a bullet for him starting that game. I'd much rather see Peterman start vs KC or the Colts where at least he would have over 2 sec to pass the football.
