I believe Jeremy White on WGR said something at the beginning of the season about being in the hunt going into our usual soul-crushing loss against KC.  Same ole bills.

I think the Bills are hopeless, but think about it for a minute.   He's a coach.   He's supposed to be leading 53 men and getting them to perform their best.   He MUST tell his team they're in the hunt.   He can't stand in front of them and say "We suck.  We're just trying to figure out how not to embarrass ourselves again."   Can't say that.   So if he can't say it to his team, he can't say it in public.

Until they're mathematically eliminated, he has to say this stuff.

I'm really scared.   There's a good chance that KC will roll over the Bills on Sunday.   They're home, they're desperate, they have better talent and they're better coached.   It's a real good bet that the Pats will roll over the Bills, too.   It's quite possible that the Bills put together the ugliest five-game stretch in the history of the league.   It's possible they'll give up 200 points in five games.

Let's see what McDermott has to say when THAT happens.

Trust the process??

Lol how's that working out for them so far?

10 games into their 1st season, 5-5 with a roster full of scrap heap castoffs, not too bad.  They’ve already pushed on the win total line with a chance to win the bet.  I was expecting 3-4 wins this year.  We have 5.  It’s not working out too bad considering we have an awful OL, DL, LBs and our TE and WRs can’t stay healthy.   I’d like to see what they can do once they use the picks they acquired and sign players with the room they created.  Add a legit QB and it could be special.  Is that drinking Millais or just the reality of the situation?

If you're happy just because their record says 5 and 5 then by all means.

But everyone knows that 2 or 3 of those wins were extremely lucky where they got virtually every break. That's just not sustainable to force 3 plus turnovers a game

The reality of situation is they are 5 and 5 with the 27th ranked offence and the 30th ranked defence. They are on a sharp decline and look worse by the week.

If you're happy that they won 2 or 3 of those 5 games by great bounces and a massive turnover differential then fair enough. But I can't see how that will benefit them in the future because it's an unsustainable method of winning. As we are now witnessing

That's not the way it works though........they are the reason the roster is so stripped down.........and they are coming off the worst string of 3 games in franchise history.

Are they or are they not still in the running?  Case closed.

hang on to that hope, as long as you can.

to answer your question, barely. by a very thin margin that should be all but wiped out come dec 2nd.

Hey.......remember when they annonced Peterman was the starter and you shouted me down when I said Taylor could be back in the lineup any minute.......and then Taylor was back in the lineup after just one half of football?

That was funny.

Exactly. For me I could care less they are 5 and 5.

I would rather them be 3 and 7 and actually look like they are coming together and playing better as the year goes on.

But they are in the opposite trend and to your point, have been historically bad the last 3 weeks.

It's all about expectation....I really didn't expect any positive results in 2017...this year was to cut the fat and start molding the team the new staff wants....next year will be more telling....

Oh don't be mad...........not my fault you've been a Bills fan since 1973 and somehow thought Taylor wouldn't get back on the field.

Even if the option wasn't an ill-equipped/prepared Nate Peterman............this is the Bills for chrissake.

Yeah they've had some stability at the position with Taylor for a couple years(including best offense in 25 years in 2016).......but prior to that they've been yanking and switching QB's around almost every year or two for a DECADE.

Honestly some of you just can't be taught.

Now you are on here being all emo simply because you thought Peterman was Nate Favre....... :(

What's the record pre-strip down?

And that “best offense in 25 years” was only good for average. Some of us aspire for better

0-0

If your point is what would their record be if they had simply started Nate Peterman all year......0-10 would be my guess and someone not on the roster would be playing QB right now with Lil' Nay Pete on IR.

Problem is that the early season is always fools gold and new coaching staffs have an advantage early on because there is no tape of their players playing their schemes.

As I said early in the year.......by midseason the X's and O's matter less.........and the Jimmie's and Joe's matter more.

7th in scoring with the fewest turnovers ever thru 15 games isn't average.  Not debatable.

I know you are as mentally soft as a marshmallow so you can't appreciate the value of a resilient defense.....but defense is important.......also usually easy to fix.......which is a bad look for McDefense.

The softness must be due to three years of run run pass punt.

you have a very poor way of reading people. I don't know if that's something you can teach or just comes with time. I was just yanking your chain the same as you were yanking mine. no real emotion involved, especially anger or in your words mad/emo.

no, it would take a hell of a lot more then that to make me mad. if anything I'm mad at myself for hanging in there as long as I have. difference now is I find it much easier to just let go of any hope. hope, mainly false hope is what bills fans have been living on. this season is no different then any of the other so called rebuilds and so far looking like the same (that may of been the worst 3 game stretch I've ever witnessed or remember anyway) end result.

as for peterman, sure I was pulling for the kid, another good case of false hope on my behalf. you seem to have some hope  for taylor and I certainly wont call you out when he continues to be taylor and he too joins the list, long list of failed attempts at finding stability at the most important position.

I've wrote this season off, my choice. after the last three weeks, I don't see any miraculous turn around so they'll miss the post season and lure us in to the off season with all those picks and try and lead the fan base to believe that the process will work and they're building a team with one goal in mind, a championship.

it's what keeps us coming back year after year, always thinking this will be the year, how cliche'.

I have no choice but to sit back and wait to see if they can bring their "trust the process" in to fruition and finally field a contender?

And they are in year 1 if a rebuild.......not sure what everyone expected this year.  Most people that know football expected us to be exactly what we are right now.  Sammy was gone after this year.  Dareus wasn’t buying in and was being tremendously overpaid. Darby was a completely different player in year 2 compared to year 1.  Now we have 2nd 3rd and 5th rd picks to help replace them.

Gillislee is a healthy scratch every week.  Woods wasn’t coming back to play offensive line a 5th straight year.  Zach Brown is the guy I wished we have paid.  He could be a difference maker on this D.

We have 4 draft picks that look like a solid foundation (white, Zay, Dawkins and Milano). If we can draft well again this year and add the proper free agents this can be a competitive team again.

This is year one in a rebuild.  Not sure what you guys expected.  The 5-2 start got everyone thinking playoffs (myself included) when in reality, we were an over achieving bunch of scrappers.  After a few games, the opposition identified our weaknesses and are taking full advantage.

If there’s one thing I have confidence in, it’s that we have no idea what the future of this current regime holds.  Those here that are sure McBeane is a failure just like to say “I told you so”.  Those that “know” that McBeane is going to take us to the promised land are overly optimistic and include some koolaid drinkers.  Personally, i like these guys, but we are still a couple years from a verdict. I won’t judge them from jettisoning under performing and soon be be expensive talent in exchange for draft picks. Beane stated he believed in building through the draft.  This is exactly what they are doing and I look forward to watching them.  Those that hate, hate and hate more, make sure to take your blood pressure medicine.

The easiest thing to do is cut players that are higher maintenance and lose and call it a rebuild.......so if THAT is your opening statement.......then you aren't open to discussion and there is no point.

If you are good with what you are seeing just kick back and enjoy.
