MTBill Posted November 22, 2017 Posted November 22, 2017 If you look around the AFC, the Bills are not the only team struggling right now. Teams which were all supposed to be shoe-ins for the playoffs have been faltering. This team does not have the talent right now to take advantage of it. I think we still could get 2-3 (Ind, Mia, maybe mia) wins the rest of the way if they pull themselves together, but that won't cut it. This is turning out to be the worst November ever in Bills history. 3 straight blowouts and a team seemingly in a tailspin, a few hundred feet from the side of a mountain. I guess the light in the tunnel right now is the Giants were able to beat KC - so it is perhaps possible if they reverse course. Or maybe we won't get blown out - a 9-7 loss right now would feel better than these prior 3 debacles.
Sweats Posted November 22, 2017 Posted November 22, 2017 If ever the Bills had a chance year to sneak into the playoffs, this would have been it...........a weak AFC was opening up to every team and the Bills could have made a solid go at it. And now?..........not so much. 3
Helpmenow Posted November 22, 2017 Posted November 22, 2017 Only the bills would struggle with an golden opportunity
SlimShady'sSpaceForce Posted November 22, 2017 Posted November 22, 2017 Win 4 and they could get in. Sorry reoccurring nightmare.

Elite Poster Posted November 22, 2017 Posted November 22, 2017 I really hope he comes to the camper lot week 13. I'm gonna find him.
FLXbillsmafia Posted November 22, 2017 Posted November 22, 2017 No doubt. The AFC is as weak as any conference in recent memory. Are the Jaguars really any better than the 2014 Bills? Maybe their defense is slightly better, but Bortles is no better than Orton IMO. Yet, the Jags will probably win 11 or 12 games, looking at their schedule. I also don't think this years' Steelers are any better than their teams in the past. But they will probably go 13-3 because the AFC is so darn bad.
Dablitzkrieg Posted November 22, 2017 Posted November 22, 2017 (edited) Just for S/G's, I played around with the ESPN playoff machine. Lots of scenarios with the Bills getting in at 8-8. The AFC sucks. I know it is a pipe dream, but what the hell else do we have? That was with 2 losses to the Pats and a loss to the Chiefs Edited November 22, 2017 by Dablitzkrieg
Talley56 Posted November 22, 2017 Posted November 22, 2017 The Bills have also had a few things work against them. Like the Ravens getting to play Oakland and Green Bay without Carr and Rodgers. No way they win those games otherwise. But yeah, Bills have had some things slip in our favor. Like Miami seemingly ready to tank a bit by trading away Ajayi.
leonbus23 Posted November 22, 2017 Posted November 22, 2017 But think of the hijinx that will ensue if we start rookie QB after he threw 5 picks in a half. We need to embrace the fact we are alive and conscious during something will be talked about in Bills history for decades. This is so Billsy that compared to McDermott, Rob Ryan looks like Tom Cruise from Cocktail crossed with Knute Rockne and the ghost of Author Ashe. Please start Peterman. It's the only entertainment left.

Thurman#1 Posted November 22, 2017 Posted November 22, 2017 (edited) I just don't feel there was much of an opportunity lost. Seemed to me like they had the opportunity to go 8-8 or maybe 9-7 and even if they made the playoffs be ejected efficiently the minute they played a decent team. That's not a huge missed opportunity, IMHO. I saw the four Super Bowls. It's hard for me to get excited over a one-and-done playoff appearance. I want them to be a consistently good team, a team that has a shot at competing for a championship most years. Less than a legitimate chance at a title doesn't mean much to me. I don't think this was a golden opportunity. More like maybe aluminum. 1 hour ago, leonbus23 said: But think of the hijinx that will ensue if we start rookie QB after he threw 5 picks in a half. It'll be forgotten quickly. Edited November 22, 2017 by Thurman#1
Big Blitz Posted November 22, 2017 Posted November 22, 2017 Oh. I thought this was a thread on deciding to not draft Watson. I'm sure they'll know what they're doing in 2018 tho.
benderbender Posted November 22, 2017 Posted November 22, 2017 This one hurts more than other years to me. I knew that we had new coaching staff and nobody really believed in Tyrod, so I expected a down year. Then the wife surprised me with tickets to the Denver game. 10.5 hours drive each way and I was drinking the kool aid at 2-1 and looking back, it was set up for heartache as a Bills fan.

What if we had a defense, What if we had a real QB, What if we had a real coach (x7), What if the Refs didn't screw us. What if he didn't fumble the ball on the 4 yard line - a FG would have won the game 5 hours ago, Kelly the Dog said: Is this like an unreleased Tom Petty song?
