McDermott thought the question was regarding a ligament tear. Benjamin does indeed have a torn meniscus. Edited November 27, 2017 by 26CornerBlitz

He's here next year.

Big Turk Posted November 27, 2017 Posted November 27, 2017 Now they confirm it IS a torn meniscus... 1 minute ago, dave mcbride said: I don't profess to know the details, but I thought that if he was traded, the team trading for him had a choice. McDermott apparently just said he thought he heard torn ligament when asked earlier and said report was inaccurate. Probably out this week.

Jamie Nails Posted November 27, 2017 Posted November 27, 2017 The Bills actually can cut him after the season and not be on the hook for the 5th year option. Just because Carolina picked up, we’re not obligated or on the hook
Over 29 years of fanhood Posted November 27, 2017 Posted November 27, 2017 Hmm... that’s not a day to day sort of thing.

Not the way i understand it. The 5th year option is guaranteed for injury preventing the player from playing the 5th year, but absent injury the team is free to rescind the offer. At least that is how I interpret it.

Typically not but it depends on severity - I’ve seen 1-3 weeks or 3-4 weeks. It’s already been 1 week so they will see if/when he can practice from here on out.

You are correct. Only guaranteed against injury. We can release him if we wish. Doubt it happens but possible.

Yeah I saw the article, literally a minute or two after I submitted that post. Said it on countdown.
