Snowflake

I'm a "Snowflake" because ESPN coverage flat out sucks for many, many years now? They took a decent website too and completely destroyed it.

What 90 percent of the posters in this thread are missing and that those analysts weren't is why Tyrod didn't throw deep last week on a 3rd and long.  We run for negative yards, we get penalized we end up in 3rd and 15.  We run a play where only two people even run routes past the sticks and the defense is in cover 3 and every airmchair QB in Buffalo groans and shakes their first in the air.  The real story is that with a good running game, something Dennson appears incapable of designing, Taylor took a lot of shots down field and did very well at it.  When called on 2nd and 5 or 3rd and 3, deep shots are effective.  If you have a per carry average of 1.7 and your QB is throwing on 3rd and 15 and not getting it your team shouldn't be in that position in the first place.

....third and long has always been the down from hell in Buffalo lore both offensively and defensively.....offensively play calling on the first two downs has consistently created "third and long" for the offense...put the blame where you want, but Taylor and his predecessors cannot consistently deliver.....defensively, the opposition looks at "3rd and long" versus Buffalo as "3rd and short" and consistently cashes 1st downs.....a BIGGER concern should be play calling for 1st and 2nd downs regularly ineffective with Taylor at the helm that get us into "3rd and long situations" which usually mean the non-existent, clutch passing game to bail us out..........

If "the sticks" is constantly a 3rd and 12 it's going to be hard.  Splits say 3rd and 6+ he has a 74 rating.   3rd and 6 or less he has 131 rating.  He's had 62 throws, 20 percent of the time he's in 3rd and longer than 6.  Just not managing 1st and 2nd downs well at all.  Maybe Peterman can get that done for Dennison.

Last year with Lynn/Roman Taylor had a 95 rating on 3rd and 6+ but had 72 rating on 3rd and less than 6.  Dennison clearly has a better short passing game.  Unfortunately he has no deep passing game or run game to go with it.

CBS had a similar little bit in their pregame show. People trying to make it racial or are saying Tyrod is the "scapegoat" here either don't actually watch Bills games or are doing so on purpose. I say :censored: all of them. Tyrod got benched for the reasons I have been pointing out about him constantly over the last two seasons. He doesn't read defenses well, he doesn't throw his guys open consistently, he doesn't see the open man on many occasions so he decides to check down, and he cannot succeed from the pocket. Teams are stacking the box and forcing Tyrod to beat them. He can't. You start Nate the last 7 to see if he's got "it" before you make a move using a high draft pick in '18 on a QB. I also think he can run this offense better than Tyrod.

Why don't you tell the OC to call for plays down the field. That would help.

None of us knows what plays are called or what Tyrod's prime receiver is on a given play.

There was an audio clip after the last game where the OC said on a 3rd and long play that they told Tyrod to "take chances" and that he has to be more risky...and that Tyrod interpreted that by throwing to the check-down guy for like a 7 yard completion that was well short of a first down.

That is vintage Tyrod and yet what he did had nothing to do with what Dennison's play was or what they intended for Tyrod to do.  I think a repeated history of that sort of thing with Tyrod and this coaching staff lead to his benching.

Rex spewed the same stats we always hear from the Tyrod crew. 10 TD's and only 3 picks. Ok but how about the throws Tyrod doesn't even attempt? There's no stats for the QB not reading the defense and pulling the ball down instead of throwing the receiver open. Any QB would only throw a couple of INT's too if they all waited for receivers to be wide open before throwing

They should make stats for those, would help a lot in determining QB play.

Dude.  He used to throw the deep ball.  Now he won’t throw to the sticks.  I have been a complete Tyrod supporter.  He is not getting the job done.  Stop with the race nonsense.

Yes white QB's aren't overvaluated (on occasion) and thought to be more intelligent than Black  QB's. I"m doubt Peterman is still in after setting a record for interceptions in a quarter and a half if he wasn't white.

Wow what a racist.

And we have a record. 5 picks in a half Its more than clear that Tyrod wasn't the problem. The sad thing is that Peterman is potentially ruined too. Like, did no one think that starting a 5th round QB with no starting left tackle was a good idea.
