Rights to vote and own a firearm should be restored after the sentence has been served on a first felony offense. Everybody deserves a second chance But !@#$ again and the rights are permanently forfeit.

A valid opinion, though my only purpose was to point out the forfeiture of those rights isn't unConstitutional. My personal preference would be a permanent forfeiture of the franchise, which is a restricted privilege rather than a right; and permanent forfeiture of 2nd Amendment protections for all violent offenders, specifically those who used a gun in the commission of a crime. B-Man
DAMON LINKER: Al Franken Is Just The Beginning. “ Consider Joe Biden. A few short weeks ago, the former senator and vice president seemed like he would be a leading contender to win the Democratic nomination for president in 2020 and then the favorite to challenge President Trump’s bid for re-election. But now? Biden’s polling may look good, but he has a history of wandering hands that is simply incompatible with the new normal. He’s a political dead man.” Or this will all be old news by 2019. NEW: A woman says Sen. Al Franken inappropriately touched her in 2010, telling CNN that he grabbed her buttocks while taking a photo at the Minnesota State Fair. http://www.cnn.com/2017/11/20/politics/al-franken-inappropriate-touch-2010/index.html … Not only she did tell family members at the time, she said something about it on Facebook http://www.cnn.com/2017/11/20/politics/al-franken-inappropriate-touch-2010/index.html … Lame response by Al, doesn't help.............. Franken statement to CNN: "I take thousands of photos at the state fair surrounded by hundreds of people, and I certainly don't remember taking this picture. I feel badly that Ms. Menz came away from our interaction feeling disrespected." . Edited November 20, 2017 by B-Man
