More proof Peterman has been impressing behind the scenes, this move WILL pay dividends on both sides of the football.....

"I call him Nate Favre," Hyde said. "I call him Nate Favre everyday just because he's a gunslinger, man. He can throw the rock and seeing a guy that can do that is fun to compete against, being on the defensive side, especially in practice. He's a smart guy and has been learning a lot. I'm not in meetings with him, but you can just tell throughout the season he's come a long ways. We'll see if he's ready and we're hoping and wishing the best for him." ....................

Maybe if we get some quotes like this from Brown and Humber, we might see a renewed interest in gap discipline, running fast to make a play, and ability to bring a RB to the ground.

I'm glad that Hyde is backing the move, but I don't know how this will actually pay dividends on the defensive side, unless Peterman can deliver on his side of the ball.  In this scheme, that means that Peterman can't actually do the "Favre" thing too much.  Can't risk turnovers like the ol' gunslinger.

I prayed we'd draft him in the 3rd or 4th round. We only had to use a 5th. He's the complete opposite of Tyrod. He will see open receivers. He will "throw them open". He gets rid of the ball quickly with anticipation. I think Bills fans will be pleasantly surprised. He's perfect for the wco.

What's Gruden saying about Peterman?  I don't believe nothing until I hear it from Gruden.

I'll just leave this here while you get the real scoop.

I like Tyrod more than a lot of people on this board. He's a guy with great character. Hard worker. He rarely does something to lose you the game. But he'll also rarely do something to win you the game. He's a game managing QB that can keep your team at .500 while the starter is out. Tyrod is an ideal backup despite people talking up his rankings. I mean, if the defense gives the offense the ball inside the opponents 20, does anyone here have faith that Tyrod will put the ball in the endzone?

I'm interested to see what Peterman can do because we still need a starter, in my opinion. But we have to temper our expectations here. We're likely going to see some good QB play mixed in with some bad QB play. I guess this would fit in with the Favre comparison.

I hope Peterman does his job but I also hope the rest of the team starts playing inspired football as they did earlier in the year.

Fly to the ball, gang tackles all day long.

Well if we can have a few less 3-and-outs hopefully the defense will be able to catch their breath.

Our old-guy leaders KW and Lorax can't be left on the field 45 minutes a game.

A dominating defense CAN get themselves off the field, of course, but that's not what McD has designed here - from the beginning they've been bend but don't break.  That can get them worn down if the offense doesn't hold the ball a bit.
