It just goes by quietly unnoticed while the interception makes the highlight reels. Number 1 in the league in 3 and outs. Anyone paying attention has noticed. I think a lot of people here watch poor quality streams and listen to the radio. Anyone that's at the stadium is probably too drunk to even pay attention to the game. There's only a small segment of Bills fans that actually watch the games and understand what's happening.

There have been countless examples of this since TT came here. I agree that Dennison's play calls and designs can be head scratchers at times, but on that particular play it was obvious that there were other options and TT just never scanned them while he was dropping back. That goes to pre-snap recognition as well. It is the QB's job to know where every receiver should be and where coverage is based on those pre and post snap reads. TT is just not very good at that much of the time. I don't disagree and that is what I have said over and over. I see the Bills line up and admittedly wanted to see Watkins get passes and would be gobsmacked looking at opportunities at LOS and knowing that the playcall was either the other direction or a run (in a passing down). That is why I've asked over and over what the heck is going on and who is responsible!!! I can't believe you have 4 player go right and the QB looks and rolls left. That has to be the play call imo.

We've also seen a middling prospect - Brissett - perform at least as well as Tyrod. And a journeyman-in-waiting, Case Keenum, clearly outperform him. At some point any coach/GM has to think: could we really do worse by taking a flyer on someone else? What's there to lose? If Peterman isn't the guy, well, draft someone else, or bring in some McCown type. It's not like Tyrod is some ultra valuable commodity. Josh McCown, who leads the NFL in fumbles with 9, has almost exactly the same stats as Taylor (although his team, which has better defensive talent than the Bills, has a losing record). He has a 93.7 rating and Taylor has a 91.4 rating. He has the same sack rate, but again, he leads the league in fumbles.

I hope NP lights it up, but’s it’s entirely possible that his debut will make Bills fans think they did not have things so bad under Taylor. Its all good, we won't long for the days of the 59 yard passer. Time to give up on the Taylor project.

The players running open but is not the primary target (or secondary). That is the problem with the Bills there are players open but that isn't the play call. Saw it with Watkins over and over. Single coverage or DB 10 yards off and the play was him as a decoy. Sure TT is somewhat to blame but playcalling is the primary culprit. Well, no. There is a progression of reads and the QBs job is to read the defense and throw it to the open man. It doesn't matter who was what read in the progression. If you can't read the defense, a la Taylor this is what happens. 20 minutes ago, Billsfan1972 said: I don't disagree and that is what I have said over and over. Again , ridiculous. If Ben Roethlisberger sees Brown in one on one coverage on the outside, guess where he is going with the football? This is completely on the QB. Yes, a rollout cuts the field in half, but reading the defense from the pocket and throwing to the open man is on the Quarterback.

ChasBB Posted November 16, 2017 Posted November 16, 2017 (edited) Amazing this day and age, IDIOTS bring race into the discussion. Obviously, these are folks who have not watched many Bills' games. In my experience, the individual or individuals who are 1st to bring race into a conversation where race doesn't belong or apply - THAT individual IS the racist. Liberal dolts w/o brains who just have to get their 2 cents in where it isn't needed. Edited November 16, 2017 by ChasBB

Doug Marrone finished 9-7 in 14. Rex was supposed to improve the team. He did not.

blacklabel Posted November 16, 2017 Posted November 16, 2017 I've followed Andy Benoit for quite a while and usually his film analysis is pretty good. It's no secret that Taylor is a "see it-throw it" QB, meaning he very rarely throws with anticipation or throws guys open. He needs to see for sure that his man is open and this results in him hanging onto the ball too long. But game after game, as pointed out throughout this thread, he's not seeing open guys downfield, or he is and he's just not taking the chance. That's going to frustrate your receivers because he's not even giving them a chance to make a play, and it's especially going to frustrate the coaches and front office who just went out and obtained a big target for him to throw to. But, by the same token, I'm sure Taylor feels frustrated as well because he's consistently being coached to take what the defense gives him. And on top of that, it's been said that McD puts almost an obnoxious amount of emphasis on not turning the ball over while on offense. So on one hand, Taylor's gotta be thinking, I need to give my guys a shot. And on the other, he hears the coaches in his head saying, "Be safe, don't turn it over, if it's not there, dump it off." But at a certain point coaches are just gonna have to let a QB cut it loose and live with the mistakes that come with it.

Just curious. exactly right. tyrod has shown no progress under (3) different coordinators. without the turnovers and 50 yrd FG we could easily have a worse record. considering the way he has played to this point, does anybody believe that the bills should keep TT next year if he leads us to the playoffs and goes one and done(the last two games show this team is not for real IMHO)? the coaching staff needs to see if NP can play-if he plays well we may make the playoffs anyway and maybe look forward to a bright future. if not then we get a higher draft pick and try again...
GreggTX Posted November 17, 2017 Posted November 17, 2017 The Bills have a huge decision to make soon regarding the most important position in sports. I think they're going to give Peterman a chance to open things up a bit and see if he can handle it. Also, the Bills don't neccesarily have to trade up into the top 3 to get a QB they like if Peterman plays well. If nothing else, this coming offseason looks to be very interesting.
moshermw Posted November 18, 2017 Posted November 18, 2017 Agree in the most part, Hence, scapegoat. Was not an aggressive inquiry, per se, but didn't answer the intended question. Nothing as drastic as a benching occurred at any D starter position - as far as I know. This is insanity,
