That's the problem though, we keep cutting off regimes before they actually get a few years to establish their players into the locker room.  I believe they have a plan, I hope they are allowed to stick to it or the constant turnover will just keep hurting us

Along with a lack of talent...yeah I do.  Compare our linebackers to carolinas and tell me he's working with a lot of talent...they just need time to replace these old players that are just bridging the gap

Preston Brown isn't old and tired though.  Neither is Humber.  Neither is Washington or Yarbrough.  Or any of the DB's.

Did the players quit on the coaching staff?...........or did the coaching staff quit on the players?

The players looked sloppy, lazy and uninterested in playing the past 2 games, however, the coaching staff did little to prepare the team and the guys looked lost out there today.

At some point the Bills have to let a coach establish his system and get players to fit his system. McDermott should get at least 3 yrs to put something together. I think the team stopped trying because the offense is horrible and discouraging. Taylor misses so many plays  and the Oline is terrible. Just watching on TV I saw open receivers that Taylor is missing.

I'm not even sure that TT is going through any progressions...........it seems he has one "hot read" and if that ain't open, he dumps it to Shady.

I remember when TE had the same issue and looked how that turned out for him.

Brown is too slow, doesn't fit the scheme.  Humber certainly looked tired at the Jets and is too slow for this scheme.  Washington I don't think fits the scheme and Yarbrough is just a backup.  Humber is 30, Lorax is 35 or something and Brown is slow...look at what he had in carolina.  Fast linebackers who could cover, defend the run and blitz.  This group isn't close to that.

A properly executed turnaround in the NFL happens quickly.

You don't get to lose for 3-4 seasons anymore.........just does not work that way.........the message gets lost and once you get the stink of losing on a HC it's hard to get it off.

This was one of the worst efforts by a Bills team during the drought............and coming off a really bad one the week earlier.

I don't think the Pegula's signed up for more embarrassment/quitting in front of the home folks........especially with all the talent McD dumped(and dead money eaten by Pegula's) in the name of not having players on the team who would quit on him.

Not too early to start handicapping McD's replacements for the 2019 season:

1)Bill O'Brien......he may get fired this season

2)James Franklin

Pegula's will be likely to go to the area they know........Penn State connections.

I felt that the team quit as well

but I dont want to see McD get fired....I still feel like he is one of the up and coming young coaches and we need to stick with him.....

HOWEVER

It would not shock me to see Leslie Frasier get fired......that D flat quit....we are getting no pressure.......this is not a staple of a McD defense and it would not shock me to see McDermott fire the DC and take over his duties.

The D gets zero pressure because the talent level on the d-line is abysmal. Hughes is the best of the bunch by far, and he's not even really average for a pass rushing specialist DE.

Or even EJ when he got Goodwin speared in half dumping t off.

While I agree to an extent, the players he has aren't examples of a McD defense.  Look at the linebackers, all are either old and slow or don't fit the system besides Milano, the front 4 doesn't have a lot of talent either...I think the coordinators just need some fresh legs before getting the boot

Tyrod got blown off the LOS so many times today.

He ALONE was the reason the Saints ran for almost 300 yards today.

The defense isn't playing in a vacuum. They see the inept offense and the quarterback who checks down on 3rd and 15 to the 300 pound running back surrounded by defenders 10 yards shy of the first down marker.

This may be what ends up happening actually

There are plenty of defenses in the league that play on teams with putrid offenses

Any defensive player that quits because of what is going on in the offense should be flat benched (and vice versa)

It's just tough to judge the coaches when so many players don't fit the scheme and there isn't a whole lot of talent, especially on the defense.

I think the offense has lost faith in Dennison and his reluctance to deviate from the "his" blocking scheme no matter how ineffective it is.

Same old, same old.

Last years offense was way better than this years. I think McD is safe for 3 years. He will, however, have to fire a coordinator or two along the way. I was stunned the way the Saints mandhandled Buf on both sides of the ball. I excused the Jets game but this was inexcusable at home.  I think McD was in shock during his post game presser. I agree it appeared the team quit when the Saints went up 24-3. You could see defenders just waltzing around out there

That's why we need to give the regime time to get players that fit the scheme in the building but we never do because we are too impatient.  I think that changes with this group though, they should be given the chance
