Tom Posted March 6, 2005 Posted March 6, 2005 The TEDY BRUSCHI Effect has been felt in Boston area hospitals. After the Patriots linebacker was hospitalized after what doctors called a 'mild stroke' last month, local hospitals saw a 78% increase in stroke related complaints in the 2 days following his hospitalization. There was a significant increase in men ages 20-49 seeking emergency room treatment for headaches, blurred vision and weakness on one side of their body - mirroring the 31 year old Bruschi's symptoms. Despite the Patriots announcement that Tedy would hold a press conference a week after his release, he has yet to be heard from. That's fueling rumors that his playing career is over.
udonkey Posted March 6, 2005 Posted March 6, 2005 spare us the news when the Randall Gay effect begins...you know those Bostonians.

MadBuffaloDisease Posted March 6, 2005 Posted March 6, 2005 Unfortunately for most Bostonians, the "Tedy Bruschi effect" is really just a permanent feeling/state of inferiority that CANNOT be overcome with medical intervention. But hey, way to clog those ER's for the people who really DO need help.
Thurman's Helmet Posted March 6, 2005 Posted March 6, 2005 That's fueling rumors that his playing career is over. Nothing like speculating on your own foredrawn conclusion.
BillnutinHouston Posted March 6, 2005 Posted March 6, 2005 I feel so bad for those poor, suffering Boston fans.
MadBuffaloDisease Posted March 6, 2005 Posted March 6, 2005 Nothing like speculating on your own foredrawn conclusion. It's less speculation than common sense. If Bruschi continues playing and suffers another stroke, he deserves it. He'd be a fool to keep playing now. But no one ever said football players were smart.
Tux of Borg Posted March 6, 2005 Posted March 6, 2005 Poor Bostonians, no wonder why they couldn't handle the Derek Jeter convention center...
stevestojan Posted March 6, 2005 Posted March 6, 2005 Reminds me of the episode of Seinfeld when George thought he was having a heart attack after watching a special about them on PBS.
