we have to stick with this pair for at least 5 years for better or worse. Can't keep thinking the next one can instantly make it better because you need stability

Marcel is not the reason we look bad in all 3 stages of the game.  This culture has to change and Marcel has been selfish since he came here.  I don't miss him at all.  Talented, but not a guy I ever trusted.  LOVE the Benjamin trade though.  I'll take him over Watkins every day and twice every Sunday.  I just hope he gets a QB that can make throws before he decides to leave.

What I don't understand is why our offense comes out with an uncharacteristic timing throw to Benjamin, a nice run by Shady, a designed run by Taylor all to great success, then after two missed attempts to Benjamin in the end zone, devolves to the same old boring offense.  Why not keep the pedal to the medal?  Defensively, it looks like our secondary is standing in zones as receivers just run to the openings instead of shadowing receivers through the zones to give the DL a chance to put pressure on the QB.

We're still the six seed.  That's tenuous for sure, but we still control our own fate.  I still think the LAC, Ind, and both Miami games are very winnable.  Very losable the way we've played the last two weeks, but I'm now going to examine how this team adjusts to this adversity.

Firing Beane is WAY too premature now.

Guys like Tolbert are bridge players that they are familiar with until they address the position in the offseason.  Sammy and Marcel were guys that you'd have to pay a ton of money to and are guys their teammates looked up to, if those two don't buy into the system then that spreads over the whole team.  Ragland doesn't fit the scheme.  Darby is a press corner and didn't buy into the process.  It's all about the future and having "their guys" in the building.  Instead of trying to build around the talent we have like we've done for 17 years maybe they decided to change things up and now they are actually gonna give a front office some time to get their guys in the building and see if they can build something?

shouldn't be hard to find a decent back up RB

They will address that in the draft.  Again, they use players from carolina like Tolbert, Johnson to bridge until they address the position in the offseason.  These guys know their ways and can help the new players to the system learn more about the system and be a positive example.  That's exactly why Dareus was moved.  He was clearly not buying in so why would they leave a guy who is looked up to on the team if he's questioning the coaching staff?  That just doesn't make sense to.  He could use his pull to get other guys to stop buying in...

Someone has a short sighted view. That’s rarely successful long term. But sure, give us your knee jerk reaction. I NEVER thought this was the year. Getting rid of malcontents and bad contracts can be painful. Sometimes you just have to take your medicine. Am I sure it will work? Hell no! But I like that they have what it takes to make bold moves to implement their plan.

Like the Sabres have been doing for the past 5 years?

He's 9 games in. I'm not judging Beane for at least another year or two

This guy has done some seriously questionable ****.

Going into the season with Mike Tolbert as the backup running back... really?? I mean WTF.

Then he trades Dareus for essentially nothing and ever since that moment the defense has looked like complete ****.

I say get Beane out of here and bring in a more competent GM going forward.

....see if your dog will take you for a long walk....it's past your bedtime....Jesus, I've heard it all................

So was Beane lying to the fans when he said otherwise right after the Sammy trade?  Equally important, did Beane lie to Pegula?  Does Terry think they were sacrificing wins this season?  I’m not so sure.

Beane is definitely on the hot seat as of Jan. 1.

On the hot seat? Says who... You? Who fires a GM after less than a year, who didn't even have a draft or offseason for that matter.

Fire Beane? WTF? He is preparing to fill a roster with new players, I don't think he has done any really questionable moves so far. He is offloading poorly performing players, contacts and making moves for the future so that his staff can fill it with players that fit their system. Just like every new staff in the history of the NFL.

The estrogen is just running wild here at the moment. The one move I thinking needs to happen going forward is that Tyrod should have played his last game as a Bills starter.

Trading Dareus may have potentially cost us the season this year. The defense has turned into complete **** since we've traded him. Getting rid of him was just SO BAD that I don't know if Beane deserves to be back.

LOL jumping the gun already? Beane hasn't even held a draft yet. Come on. Do you really expect them to say they are throwing out this season for next year?

What a load of crap.....knows the system...bridge players.....any more cliches....it's about talent and Tolbert should not be a No.2 RB anywhere in the league

I absolutely think having bridge players that know the system and have already played in it is helpful.  That's what all teams do, bring players over from their last coaching spot to bridge the gap until they find the right player to fill the position.  I doubt Tolbert will be the number two running back next season but they didn't exactly have a full offseason and they had multiple holes to fix, I think it's a harsh overreaction to come down on them for that.  It's not about this season for them.  They are trying to build a consistent contender not a one year pretender.  They've been here less than a year haha

This seems like an extreme reaction.

Dareus was worth more to this team, this year, warts and all, than the compensation they got for him. That's undeniable. They could have moved him in the off season (and probably gotten more for him) and kept talent on the roster for this season in a push to break the drought. Instead, the front office shipped out a malcontent with an attitude problem... who was the most talented player in that whole front seven.

In two weeks we have seen his trade hasn't turned into "addition by subtraction" - quite the opposite. Every team now sees they can gash the Bills up the middle because they lack a run stuffing DT. It's legitimate to question the thinking of that move, even if you acknowledge Dareus's warts.

The front office made that move to the detriment of this year's team's prospects. There's no other way to look at it. Just like they did with the Watkins move. All the talk about wanting to "win now" has been shown to be hooey.

Now we are looking down the barrel of a 7-9 season, no playoffs for the 18th straight year, and this new front office and coaching staff set themselves up to take a lot of deserved flack from fans for the rest of this season and off season.

Defending Tolbert as the backup halfback does not put your argument in the strongest light.

Tolbert has a place on this roster - short yardage specialist.  Not Beane's fault Tolbert is being used as a RB2.

He hasn't brought in a competent backup RB that's why a FB has to play RB. There's been widespread reports he's still trying to get a backup RB up to the trade deadline but couldn't. That's how incompetent he is.

He didn't have to trade Dareus NOW. He could have traded him in off-season where we could have gotten a replacement either in draft of FA. As is, he took away the team's best run-stopper on a team that was relying on run-stopping to win games. THAT'S IDIOTIC.

I just question, deeply, most of their personnel decisions thus far.

It's just the start. You think their decision-making is going to suddenly get better when the calendar turns?

Whose fault is it then?  He is the #2 back because Beane and McDermott want him to be.  Otherwise why have they done nothing but boomerang sign and release Joe freaking Banyard (a scrub) as competition? Because they want Tolbert on the field.  That's why.

I realize that, I was one of the first to say he needs to be replaced but through the draft.  The only reason he is on the team is because he is familiar with the system and McDermott/Beane.  That's what coaches do, bring players from their last team to slap on as a bandaid until the position is addressed.  Tolbert will be replaced but not this season.  Some fans can't forgive that for some reason and don't see that it's all about the future.  Whatever happens this year doesn't really matter to the front office.  They are looking to get the right guys for 3-4 years from now.  How many players did Rex bring over when he came from the Jets?  Those were bridge players, it happens with every coach haha.  To them it's one less guy they have to bring up to speed and teach their system to.  It makes sense, just Tolbert is old and not playing well

Jesus help me. The GM gets more than 9 games. Here’s a team most here thought might win 4 games. They shocked us all with the start but are coming back to earth.

There is a a ton of work to do here with this team and it will take a while. Simmer down.
