Bob went on with Bill Simmons and got angry about a kid making a comment that downplayed his career, so Bob went through a recital of his accomplishments.

Lighten up Bobby, times running out.

College football is still big and those players want the NFL money so as long as the money is there the NFL will be around

The 'money being there' is also dependent on fan interest.    If interest among the under-35 year old set continues to decline, it won't matter what 1,500 to 2,000 elite college football players want to do for a living.

Live sports is not attracting new, younger viewers

Magna Global recently released its 2017 U.S. Sports Report.  According to Radio + Television Business Report (RBR.com) the age of live sports viewers is scewing older.  Much older.  Today the average NFL viewer is at least 50.  Similar to tennis, and college basketball and football.  That's second only to baseball at 57 - which was 50 as recently as 2000.  But no sport is immune.

In another study, teenage interest in the NFL was found to have fallen from 26% to 19% over the last two decades.

Correct but NFL has been on top for so long that it was inevitable ratings would drop....but there are things that bother me about the current game

Thats the issue.. Viewership is declining the game is becoming unaffordable for many to attend, and much of the youth doesn't find it a worthwhile passtime. Coupled with the the fact soccer is gaining some popularity, many parents including NFL players won't even let their own kids polay football and the inevitable decline in the the game and its present decline in quality doesn't bode well for the long term.

its inevitable IMO...  However as long as Bills fans can tailgate and party on a Sunday like Monday doesn;t exist then it should remain popular here for awhile, but our younger generations don't party like we used to. Today's party scenes aren't football friendly.. None of my nieces nephews or cousins are interested in buying tickets or watchgn the games on Sunday...

Plus we got away with a lot more when we were younger....many times cops let us go after being pulled over....sometimes they would take our keys, leave our car, drive us home and we have to pick it up next day...Cops were more liberal back then plus there was no danger of us having a gun in the car
