We have a chance to oust Tom Reed!
Tiberius Posted January 18, 2018 Author Posted January 18, 2018 Have we not heard the chimes at midnight? In coal country? But I thought he was restoring the coal jobs? Pro-life, Har har https://www.nytimes.com/2018/01/17/us/politics/trump-pennsylvania-house-special-election.html?hp&action=click&pgtype=Homepage&clickSource=story-heading&module=first-column-region®ion=top-news&WT.nav=top-news&_r=0 WASHINGTON — Republicans are scrambling to save a heavily conservative House seat in western Pennsylvania, dispatching President Trump to the district on Thursday while preparing a multimillion-dollar advertising campaign to stave off another embarrassing special election defeat in a district that was gerrymandered to stay Republican. When Representative Tim Murphy was pushed out of the House last year after the revelation that he encouraged a mistress to have an abortion, Republican leaders gave scant thought to his successor. The odd-shaped district in the southwestern corner of the state was drawn to skirt Democratic Pittsburgh and concentrate conservative-leaning, steel and coal country voters.

Interesting poll. Yes, Dems can still blow it. A terror attack could help Trump like it did for Bush in 2002 election. But looking at Trump's numbers he is still really underwater and that hasn't moved much at all, even down some. That's bad news for Republicans. The energy is on the side of Dems now and that probably won't change What can really hurt the GOP is if they back down on immigration or the second longest bull market in history finally runs out of steam. Immigration and the awesome economy (nothing to do with Trump) are the only things propping up this remarkably terrible person that Conservatives have foisted on America
B-Man Posted January 21, 2018 Posted January 21, 2018 WELL THAT DOESN’T FIT THE NARRATIVE: Star Tribune Minnesota Poll delivers promising results for Republicans.

B-Man Posted January 22, 2018 Posted January 22, 2018 (edited) If this CNN poll is any indication, the tax cuts could be VERY helpful to the GOP in November When the GOP passed the tax bill, Democrats held a 13 point lead on the generic ballot. A month later, that lead is now down to 7.3 points and tightening quickly. Whether this is sustainable or not for Republicans, there is no denying the current trend. . In a 5-2 decision, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court ruled the electoral map violated the state Constitution by manipulating the district boundaries to minimize the voting power of Democratic voters, a practice called partisan gerrymandering.

In a 5-2 decision, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court ruled the electoral map violated the state Constitution by manipulating the district boundaries to minimize the voting power of Democratic voters, a practice called partisan gerrymandering. So the Court made a political decision (5 Democrats voting for, 2 Republicans against), to legislate directly from the bench in order to achieve their desired electoral results. You'll note "The court’s order did not specify how the map runs afoul of the law". 1
row_33 Posted January 22, 2018 Posted January 22, 2018 Pennsylvania's last trick was holding out on reporting the Nov 2016 votes until well after midnight because they couldn't spin it in Hildebeast's direction. All of us were laughing as the hours passed because it meant Trump was going to win if he had taken PA by that much.
Tiberius Posted January 23, 2018 Author Posted January 23, 2018 Wow! Don't piss off the women! The Post-ABC News poll shows: The Post-ABC poll finds Democrats holding a 57 percent to 31 percent advantage among female voters, double the size of Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton’s margin in the 2016 election. Nonwhite women favor Democrats by a 53-point margin, somewhat smaller than Clinton’s 63-point advantage over Trump in 2016. But white women have moved sharply in Democrats’ direction, favoring them over Republicans by 12 points after supporting Trump by nine points in 2016 and Republican candidates by 14 points in the 2014 midterm election, according to network exit polls. . . . Six in 10 female registered voters “strongly disapprove” of Trump’s job performance compared with just over 4 in 10 men. Dems are going to pick up seats with this. I bet Reps rush this to the Supreme Court
