The closest North American came to Civil War was the FLQ crisis in Quebec in the late 60s and early 70s

Mail boxes were blown up, two bigwigs were kidnapped, one died in captivity.

Justin's father declared (for all intents and porpoises) Martial Law in the province.

DR will probably have something to say about this is Deep State, a Uni or Multi plot! Trump cultists will be angry that our government is trying to protect us from Putin's interference to help Trump again

Eight of the tech industry’s biggest companies met with U.S. intelligence officials last month to discuss how to counteract Russian meddling in November’s midterm elections. The meeting took place May 23 at Facebook’s headquarters in California and was attended by representatives from Amazon, Apple, Google, Microsoft, Oath, Snap and Twitter, The New York Times reports. The officials met with Christopher Krebs, an undersecretary for the Department of Homeland Security, and an unnamed representative of the FBI’s new “foreign influence” task force. The meeting, which was reportedly initiated by Facebook, was considered a first step to try to ensure that the midterms don’t see a repeat of the Russian interference that overshadowed the 2016 presidential election. However, sources who attended the meetings told the Times that intel officials were reluctant to share information with the tech companies about what kind of threats they should be preparing for.

Just wanna say that life is so more enjoyable chuckling when I get this on the board.

I'm kinda in a dilemma in regards to tibs, Baskin, etc.  Im generally not in favor of the ignore feature on PPP.  They have every right to have their opinion heard.

But I don't have an unlimited data plan.and dont want to keep paying to read their asshattery.

Hey mods, here's.a suggestion, add a mobile only ignore list.

I enjoy useful opinions from the other side, but certain people on here are just goofing around or are seriously hurting in the cranium.

It's not fun reading the trash Tibs puts out, I could do this by simply seeing what common sense is and then going against it, big accomplishment!!!

Right now the leading 2020 Dems are

Warren - Massachusetts

Sanders - Vermont

Biden - Delaware

Holder - DC

Harris - California

Newsome - California

Gilibrand - New York

de Blasio - New York

Zero representation from anywhere in between the East & West coasts.

Though still a long shot, Democratic hopes of seizing the Senate don't look horrible at all. If they hold onto Florida and West Virginia and pick up Tennessee, Arizona and Nevada they are in.

Florida is a total toss up with an old, old Democrat and an up and coming Republican in Scott. Wouldn't be surprised if Scott Wins.

West Virginia! Trump is so popular there that I also would not be surprised if Joe Manchian is in trouble, but he is still leading in the polls. Trump will probably visit the state late and make a big anti-Immigration hate speech there. Who knows?

Democrats are running a good campaign in Tennessee so Trump might have to jump in there and try and rescue that one as well. Very close race

Dean Heller is in trouble in Nevada, a state Clinton won. Dems pick up.

Arizona should also be a pick up but closer than Nevada.

North Dakota could also be a loss for Democrats, close race there, too.

While we were marching through Georgia!!

Hurrah, hurrah, come join the jubilee

Hurrah, hurrah, the flag that makes you free!

Turnout among black voters soared in last month’s Georgia primary, a show of strength that could bode well for Democrats in this year’s contests for governor and other statewide offices.

The number of black voters rose 43 percent in the May 22 election when compared with 2010, the last time there was a competitive race for governor, according to an Atlanta Journal-Constitution analysis of demographic datareleased this week by the Georgia Secretary of State’s Office.

The data show the broad majority of African-American voters pulled Democratic ballots, which could bolster the hope of Stacey Abrams, who is racing to be the nation’s first black female governor. Her Republican opponent will be decided in a July 24 runoff between Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle and Secretary of State Brian Kemp.

At the same time, the proportion of white voters continues to decline. White voter participation in last month’s primary was down 9 percent from 2010. And white voters are more likely to be conservative, making up 93 percent of the GOP primary vote — and just 30 percent of the Democratic support.

BLUE WAVE? Democrats Underperforming With Hispanic Voters.

“Despite the president’s hard-line immigration policies, Republican candidates are running competitively in many Hispanic-heavy states and congressional districts.”

I’m not sure about that word “despite,” but here’s more:

Rep. Will Hurd of Texas once looked like one of the most vulnerable House Republicans, representing a border district where Hispanics make up 70 percent of the population—a seat Hillary Clinton carried by 4 points in 2016. Hurd has long been an independent GOP voice, emerging as a critic of Trump’s border-wall proposals and a supporter of a path to citizenship for Dreamers. But, as Democrats frequently bring up, he’s also a congressman whose partisan affiliation will help keep Republicans in charge of the House.

He’s in surprisingly good shape as he vies for a third term against Democrat Gina Ortiz Jones. Despite holding one of the 25 GOP seats that Clinton carried, he’s not on the list of The Cook Political Report’s most endangered 31 members. His Texas colleagues John Culberson and Pete Sessions, representing suburban Houston and Dallas districts where Republicans traditionally dominate, are in deeper trouble. It’s a crystal-clear sign that the anti-Trump anger is concentrated within whiter, affluent suburban communities, not the Hispanic battlegrounds with the most at stake.

Much more at the link.

Little known fact: legal immigrants hate illegal immigrants.

About time the Hispanic population in the Southwest started to realize that the Democrats' immigration policies are !@#$ing them over.

SALENA ZITO: Will #resistance summer dampen the Democrats’ big autumn?

It appears, at least for now, that the progressive Left rejects the pragmatic approach of the Democratic establishment. It looks like Trump is once again benefiting from Democrats’ unforced errors.

What Democrats do have going in their favor heading into the summer of decision is higher voter turnout for their primary contests this year, and their folks are pumped.

What they can’t seem to settle on is a pragmatic enough message to form a coalition of an enthusiastic base who could vote side-by-side with unhappy Republicans and moderate Democrats.

The base often telegraphs to lost Republicans and moderate Democrats, “We don’t need you,” often bluntly and without apology.

Walking out of the courtroom to face reporters last Thursday, Okoumou proudly wore a T-shirt reading “White Supremacy is Terrorism.”

Resistance activists celebrated her on social media calling her a hero and courageous for her theatrical and illegal protest — if the resistance becomes a summer of theatrics it’s hard to imagine a blue wave taking out as many Republican House members as leadership hoped, squandering an opportunity that was theirs for the taking, and likely fracturing the Democratic Party even more than it already is.

All the Democrats have to do is not be crazy, and they can’t even do that.™
