Thurman should have just gotten the ball every play. Effin Marv... idk who to blame but they were just out coached completely. Granted who it was against, and how in hindsight it seems so simple. But Thurman was just destroying them.

We should have won that SB. Definitely out coached, by far. Also goes to show just how long Belichick has been torturing the Bills.

It's a travesty that he only got 15 carries in the game. 1

I have no idea if you know your football or not so I will not make assumptions to the contrary. As for the game in question, even the late Bill Walsh stated that the Bills lost Super Bowl XXV due to poor clock management on the final drive. They also tackled horrendously , especially in the second half. The OC refused to do the obvious and take what BB defense was giving them by running the ball. The Bills scored a point per minute of posession. That's not usually a recipe for success. The Bills defense, bad clock management and a miracle play by the Giants QB to not fumble when sacked in the end zone had a far greater impact on the outcome of that game than anything Bill Belichick did. What exactly did BB do besides give a 3 man line look to the offense that would be easily foiled by running the ball? I suppose you could say Marchibroda had a bigger impact by not doing the obvious. Even Parcells immediately afterward stated " power football wins" in reference to the Giants ground game that ate up the clock ( and kept the potent Bills offense on the sideline). The poor tackling was a huge detriment. Either way, anything BB did in that game was minimal since the game plan revolved around controlling the clock and keeping the Bills offense off the field. The Giants offense held the ball for some 39 minutes. That's not Belichicks side of the ball.

The Bills have it if they knew how to manage the clock at the end of Supe XXV. Or if Ted Marchibroda did the obvious and ran the heck out of Thurman Thomas vs that 3 man line look. Ted decided to dance with who brung him. Still, either way it had little to do with Belichick . Well, Belichick was the one who had his defense knock the ball around after the play so it took the refs a long time to spot the ball & thus helped slow down the no huddle attack . Of course this tactic was illegal but they got away with it numerous times in the game. I do agree that they should have run Thurman more.

26CornerBlitz Posted February 2, 2018 Author Posted February 2, 2018 Intriguing episode that gives great insight into the commplex relationship between the two.
D. L. Hot-Flamethrower Posted February 3, 2018 Posted February 3, 2018 I watched it last night and found it compelling and riveting TV. Talk about a complex relationship! I think they get along fine, but it has not always been easy for them. I like them both. I like Belichick better than Brady too. Much more relatable.

Steptide Posted February 3, 2018 Posted February 3, 2018 I watched it last night and thought t it was great, minus the superbowl 25 part. I found it interesting how animated Belichick was back when he quit the jets compared to how he handles press conferences now

KD in CA Posted February 3, 2018 Posted February 3, 2018 Good watch. It's clear Parcells had a lot to do with BB's development and long term success. But he did do BB wrong initially on the Jets thing.
26CornerBlitz Posted February 3, 2018 Author Posted February 3, 2018 Heard about this when I watched the episode.

Can you believe on that team it was Coughlin as the OC, Belicheat as the D.C. And Parcells as head coach. All will be HOF someday like Parcells. Coughlin was never an OC just a WR coach.
row_33 Posted February 25, 2018 Posted February 25, 2018 Fun to see BB in an off the rack suit and tie.
