boyst Posted November 4, 2017 Posted November 4, 2017 i'm not saying he would be a difference maker, but the Bills were not very smart to let Gillislee walk since there appeared to be no viable plan to have a backup RB. Tolbert is not a backup. 1
YoloinOhio Posted November 4, 2017 Posted November 4, 2017 They were interested in him in the offseason. Had Saints knowledge. Decent Shady backup because he runs like him; can be used in passing game.

JM57 Posted November 4, 2017 Posted November 4, 2017 At the very least he should be a better weapon as a pass catcher then Tolbert. He filled that role very capably during his time in NO.

Kirby Jackson Posted November 4, 2017 Posted November 4, 2017 Pass catcher, kick returner that has spent a lot of time with the Saints? Sure why not 2
artmalibu Posted November 4, 2017 Posted November 4, 2017 Looks like a good replacement for Jones. I good special teamer, but with nearly 20 receptions a year.
buffaloboyinATL Posted November 4, 2017 Posted November 4, 2017 My guess is they want him more for his return skills than his running skills, so Gillislee would not have been a better fit.
Buffalo Barbarian Posted November 4, 2017 Posted November 4, 2017 We definitely needed one, could use another RB really, if Shady goes down we can't depend on Tolbert.

Lurker Posted November 4, 2017 Posted November 4, 2017 Interesting pickup. Seems like a good third down option as a pass catcher. But only 27 carries in 66 career games (and just 16 in the past five years!) is a bit odd...
1st Ammendment NoMas Posted November 4, 2017 Posted November 4, 2017 so basically the Jets #4 back and castoff becomes our #2 or #3. Decent signing and I hope he helps, but it shows the sad state of backup RB. We do not have the 1-2 punch we used to and that hurts a little. Hopefully we continue with a strong second half of the season.
