Sweats Posted November 3, 2017 Posted November 3, 2017 Well, you remember when McD came in and let everyone go?.............well, that's the reason why we don't have a decent back-up RB, WR, etc.
klos63 Posted November 3, 2017 Posted November 3, 2017 Other than the Carolina connection I'm perplexed as to what McD and this team sees in Tolbert. The guy has never been anything more than a short yardage type of back in his career yet we are giving him valuable carries at crucial times this season and rarely is he doing much with them. If this team does crash and burn down the stretch not having a Gillislee or Karlos Williams type of back is going to be the reason why. This isn't true. He was a great runner/receiver early in his career. He hasn't been an effective short yardage back for a number of years. He should not be on this team.
The Dean Posted November 3, 2017 Posted November 3, 2017 Tolbert is no Jerome Bettis. There are many backs Tolbert is not.
SaviorPeterman Posted November 3, 2017 Posted November 3, 2017 Really wish we would have landed Adrian Peterson if those rumors were true. Regardless both the oline and McCoy have been wildly inconsistent this year especially away from Buffalo they have flat out stunk.
sullim4 Posted November 3, 2017 Posted November 3, 2017 Tolbert would normally be a FB-type runner, but with DiMarco on the team, I don't think he really plays much of a role. They'd be better served with a change-of-pace RB like a Mike Gillislee, or if you want to go really far back, Kenneth Davis. Tolbert is not that kind of guy.

Tolbert is a change of pace, fat and slow. Another back that is as effective as McCoy usually is would work better. A change of pace from Shady is a slow RB.

To this day out of all off season during season move. The move to this day Gillislee did not pay him scratch my head lots. He was perfect for McCoy...
NoSaint Posted November 3, 2017 Posted November 3, 2017 Truly as a team that wants to hang its hat on grinding out tough games its odd that we didnt do more to have a viable RB2 or better front 7 on defense.
Turk71 Posted November 3, 2017 Posted November 3, 2017 McBeane is the only reason Tolbert is in the NFL Add Ducasse to that list.
MJS Posted November 3, 2017 Posted November 3, 2017 People care way too much about who the backup running back is. Huge head scratcher for me. There are plenty of starters to complain about ...
Buffalo Barbarian Posted November 3, 2017 Posted November 3, 2017 A decent one. Its unbelievable. We cut them??
KHAN Posted November 3, 2017 Posted November 3, 2017 I don't understand why T. Jones gets no carries.
BeginnersMind Posted November 3, 2017 Posted November 3, 2017 People here have been saying it for weeks. But Barry Sanders wouldnt have done one more thing than Tolbert last night.
HOUSE Posted November 3, 2017 Posted November 3, 2017 i really like tiawan jones, much much better then you think
atlbillsfan1975 Posted November 3, 2017 Posted November 3, 2017 Has anyone here ever started a new job where you were responsible for changing things? It doesnt happen over night. Its not McDermotts or Beanes fault there has been bad leadership in Buffalo for 20 years. Try to look at these two differently because they are different people with a different plan and approach.
Bills Fan of St Augustine Posted November 3, 2017 Posted November 3, 2017 Gale Sayers couldn't run with the line play last night. Though I agree we can do better than Tolbert just by recruiting at WalMart.
baskingridgebillsfan Posted November 3, 2017 Posted November 3, 2017 Disagree. Tolbert has a place in the NFL. But not as a #2 RB. I Aagree I've heard they are a dime a dozen. Should pick up a few. they are , which make the fact that the Bills don't have one is very frustrating
Real McClappy Posted November 5, 2017 Posted November 5, 2017 After Jax opts out of Ivory's contract at the end of this year the Bills should snag him.
The Now Moment Posted November 5, 2017 Posted November 5, 2017 Fully expect them to address this at some point in the draft. Get a rookie in here to learn from Mccoy while taking a share of the rushes if he is still here. Mccoy has regressed in production this year perhaps due to the oline but still a replacement/running mate is needed.
