Albany,n.y. Posted March 5, 2005 Posted March 5, 2005 I was listening to ESPN radio & Clayton said that Denver will probably have to match the Jets offer which is $2.5 million/year.
EZC-Boston Posted March 5, 2005 Posted March 5, 2005 The Bills can take credit for that, we made him look unstoppable last pre season...
BF_in_Indiana Posted March 5, 2005 Posted March 5, 2005 Well if the Bills and Jets are both in the hunt for Ty Law like we keep hearing, this is good for the Bills. The Jets now have to wait to find out if they will get him or not, and it can stall other negotiations along the way. The same thing happened with Spikes a couple years ago. We signed him to that sheet, but we would have been in limbo for a week if the Bengals hadn't chosen to let him go right away.
Phlegm Alley Posted March 5, 2005 Posted March 5, 2005 I liked PUtzier. He averaged something like 16 yds a catch last year but $2.5M a year?! That is a little too much. I actually hope he stays with the Broncos personally.

Hopefully the Broncos match because there's not a lot of guaranteed money ($2.5M) and the cap hit the first 2 years is manageable. But even if he goes to the Jets, their QB situation is muddled with Pennington's injury and Carter being in rehab.
Charlie68 Posted March 5, 2005 Posted March 5, 2005 I am a little suprised that all the free agent TEs are still unsigned. The whole pool is still there, and I havn't heard much about activity or interest in the group. There may be plenty to pick from
