WMDman Posted October 31, 2017 Posted October 31, 2017 Holmes was great last week and one of the reasons we beat the Raiders. Ducasse is entrenched as the starting RG and Davis has been a solid rotation guy on the dline. In other words it's not happening. this
artmalibu Posted October 31, 2017 Posted October 31, 2017 (edited) Holmes' contribution going forward is not likely to increase after today, if anything it's going to go down. Deonte Thompson has marginalized him a bit as well. Davis is a rotational JAG that plays about 30 of the snaps. Oddly enough Ducasse has managed to become the starter and would be the biggest loss. I don't know if you were paying attention today, but we just obtained Kelvin Benjamin because of......drum roll..... a 3rd round pick. Think about it. So you think its a good idea to cut a 1 starting guard, 2 a contributing WR who plays a lot of special teams and 3 a rotational DE. To get 1 3rd round pick. Yea lets tank for picks. Who wants a playoff game anyway? We have plenty of picks! and the trade deadline is past. Nothing to sacrifice win now. Edited October 31, 2017 by artmalibu
Scott7975 Posted October 31, 2017 Posted October 31, 2017 Dont plan on it. Bean was asked about and said this... (paraphrasing) he isnt thinking about it. Nothing has changed. They are focused on beating the Jets right now.
26CornerBlitz Posted October 31, 2017 Posted October 31, 2017 Mike Rodak ESPN Staff Writer Asked about potential to recoup 2018 third-round pick with compensatory pick formula, Bills GM Brandon Beane says his focus is on beating the Jets on Thursday and continuing to win games after that. Signals that he won't be releasing signed free agents in order to work NFL's compensatory formula in their favor to get pick back for losing Stephon Gilmore this offseason.
artmalibu Posted October 31, 2017 Posted October 31, 2017 They have Holmes for 2 more years at a decent price. Mathews may not be back next year.
JMF2006 Posted October 31, 2017 Posted October 31, 2017 They have Holmes for 2 more years at a decent price. Mathews may not be back next year. Why not if the Bills are winning and he likes it here?
artmalibu Posted October 31, 2017 Posted October 31, 2017 Why not if the Bills are winning and he likes it here? $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Patrick Duffy Posted October 31, 2017 Posted October 31, 2017 Holmes has been playing well. I say keep him. I agree. And will need that depth, I think we all remember how quickly it can go bad with injuries.
JMF2006 Posted October 31, 2017 Posted October 31, 2017 $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ They have the cap and if its reasonable it will get done.
NewEra Posted October 31, 2017 Posted October 31, 2017 All these guys have proven their worth. Tough to say that about ducasse but we're winning and our running game is back on track so, I'll cut him some slack. Davis has made some plays including a big forced fumble and Holmes has been dependable and get his share of tds
nucci Posted October 31, 2017 Posted October 31, 2017 Bills have enough picks next year. Can we just care about enjoying this season and making the playoffs?
1st Ammendment NoMas Posted October 31, 2017 Posted October 31, 2017 not going to happen. All the guys that need to be dumped are contributing. Let's not screw up the team for a 3rd.
NoSaint Posted October 31, 2017 Posted October 31, 2017 I just don't know if I'd get rid of Holmes. I feel like he and Tyrod are finally starting to develop some chemistry. Amazing how the Benjamin signing took us from a seriously weak position to now having a surplus of talent and needing to dispose of someone.... No he took us to having a viable nfl group. Tboughwe have a large number of guys of similar quality to Holmes. Its holmes, ducasse and who else to get tbe3rd?
Kmart128 Posted October 31, 2017 Posted October 31, 2017 Holmes made two great catches last game. Doubt we cut him. Seems like we are having some success with Holmes on the outside and Zay on the inside

Frankly Ive never seen a GM do this and thought it was odd to expect. In theory Id probably say make the move but in reality its never super viable at this juncture
oldmanfan Posted October 31, 2017 Posted October 31, 2017 No reason to get rid of three guys that contribute for one third round pick
flomoe Posted October 31, 2017 Posted October 31, 2017 Can we please stop this stupid ass discussion regarding comp picks? Seriously! Who cares? Let's win now and stop worrying about this crap 💩
