nichebiche Posted October 31, 2017 Posted October 31, 2017 (edited) Cornelius Bennett was traded to the Bills 30 years ago today. Discuss. Edited October 31, 2017 by nichebiche
plenzmd1 Posted October 31, 2017 Posted October 31, 2017 will always, always, remember his first snap!
Chandler#81 Posted October 31, 2017 Posted October 31, 2017 Yep. Though about this the moment I heard the trade. I Love Halloween!!!
Mister Defense Posted October 31, 2017 Posted October 31, 2017 I have been a Bills fan since the late 70s. This was the most important trade in Bills' history, in my opinion. While the championship teams may be better known for the offense, to me it was the dynamic defense that got things going and that was the base of much of the success. The trade, and that first game with Bennett, were seminal moments.
JM2009 Posted October 31, 2017 Posted October 31, 2017 Leo Roth @leoroth 8m8 minutes ago More Not like Bennett trade of 30 years ago but Benjamin a nice Halloween treat for Bills fans. Finally a GM with NFL contacts & guts @DandC
TheBrownBear Posted October 31, 2017 Posted October 31, 2017 will always, always, remember his first snap! Yep. I was there that day as a kid. Rich Stadium was electric!
Rubes Posted October 31, 2017 Posted October 31, 2017 Man, I remember that game. There was electricity in the air when he stepped on the field. Elway never knew what was coming. Bennett was double-teamed on his third snap from scrimmage as a pro as a result.
DaBillsFanSince1973 Posted October 31, 2017 Posted October 31, 2017 but, but he's an alabama player. the biscuit!
Punt75 Posted October 31, 2017 Posted October 31, 2017 Man, I remember that game. There was electricity in the air when he stepped on the field. Elway never knew what was coming. Bennett was double-teamed on his third snap from scrimmage as a pro as a result. I was there also. He hadn't even practiced much with the team but came out on the field like a rocket.
BillsPride12 Posted November 1, 2017 Posted November 1, 2017 (edited) I feel like Bennett is the forgotten Super Bowl Buffalo Bill. Nowadays everybody refers to the Big 4(Kelly, Bruce, Thurman, Andre) but go back and watch games from those prime Super Bowl years and The Biscuit was right up there on their Superstar level. Now I realize he didn't have the longevity here in Buffalo as the other four but he played a MAJOR role in the Super Bowl runs. I hope we get to see his name on the Wall of Fame someday soon. 26CornerBlitz Posted November 1, 2017 Posted November 1, 2017 I was pumped when that deal went down! Couldn't believe they were getting Bennett.

I could only watch half of that before the cheesy 80's-James-Bond-For-Your-Eyes-Only car chase music made me stop.
atlbillsfan1975 Posted November 1, 2017 Posted November 1, 2017 was that Harbaugh he slammed a couple of times for Indy?
djp14150 Posted November 1, 2017 Posted November 1, 2017 There are probably many on this board to young to remember this trade snd how it went fown. There was piece done by SI on it that exam ed the deal and what happened behind the scenes. The deal was Dickerson to the Colts. Biscuit to us, and a bunch of picks and a couple players to the Rams (also in LA then)

Fadingpain Posted November 1, 2017 Posted November 1, 2017 One of the key moves that would eventually lead to the Superbowl "dynasty" era. Biscuit was like a maniac flying around and busting up plays in dramatic fashion. His talent was immediately noticed and felt on the field.
