Captain_Quint Posted October 29, 2017 Posted October 29, 2017 I heard the announcers say this during the game and I realized why he's a Hall of Famer. Hats off to him. He's carved his name in as someone who was as reliable as they get.
Bakin Posted October 29, 2017 Posted October 29, 2017 Hahaha. That's not true. If you noticed the graphic it said 'according to James Lofton'. I remember him dropping passes but he was a surehanded guy, absolutely.

I remember him dropping passes but he was a surehanded guy, absolutely. I dont think I follow. It showed zero drops, and if you think about his time here, I cant think of any either. There were some bad passes, but no drops that really stick out. I just can't believe he isn't mentioned more in the "elite" circles when talking about receivers.

You need to get back out to sea and catch some sharks. The sea air will do you some good.
bbb Posted October 30, 2017 Posted October 30, 2017 He dropped so many passes in his last year here it was ridiculous. We used to joke that he was concentrating on his Christmas special. And, then the next year he was with the Eagles and dropped one to blow a game against the Dolphins. Still killing us a year later.
LeGOATski Posted October 30, 2017 Posted October 30, 2017 He was the greatest receiver in the history of football. (According to James Lofton)
bmur66 Posted October 30, 2017 Posted October 30, 2017 I saw him tap the back of a guys helmet in the end zone. He turned around and Lofton caught a TD pass on him. That was cool.

apuszczalowski Posted October 30, 2017 Posted October 30, 2017 Yeah, saw that too, along with the tag on the bottom of the screen that the stat was "according to Lofton" who even joked about it
BuffaloBillyG Posted October 30, 2017 Posted October 30, 2017 I was a huge Lofton fan back in the day. Even when he was with the Packers. But man, the guy has no business being a commentator. That was just bad.
BillnutinHouston Posted October 30, 2017 Posted October 30, 2017 Lofton's work yesterday got a lot of love, but I actually didn't think it was that great in watching it when I got home. He was joking a lot, which seemed somewhat out of place, to me. Maybe I'm just too tense about my Bills football.

njbuff Posted October 31, 2017 Posted October 31, 2017 I remember on a Monday Night game, he piggybacked an Oiler defender after an incomplete pass on the sidelines. I don't remember if it was. Dishman or Johnson. Whomever it was, Lofton didn't drop him.

Is there an elite section of the HOF?
