I don't like factoring in strength of schedule and then throwing it out the window when it comes time to pick slots You lose to Iowa, freaking Iowa and almost (shoulda, coulda, woulda) lose to Iowa you should be DQ'd from the playoffs. Call it: The Iowa Rule. Iowa is a solid program How about losing to freaking Syracuse. That's one of the worst programs in the entire country

But still, we’ve seen backups come in for other schools (UGA and OSU this year ) and win games ... I think I would put Oklahoma #1 if I was doing it Even as an OSU fan, I agree with everything Pollack just said on ESPN Edited December 3, 2017 by YoloinOhio

It's all about who the committee thinks are the best New Years day matchups

/dev/null
Ohio St / Wisconsin rematch in the Runners Up Bowl Should have been Ohio St (and last year Penn St). They need to codify some objective selection criteria
LEBills
Need to go back to the BCS computer rather than this SEC-biased selection committee.

OSU has no one to blame but itself, however I think Clemson would have beaten either There was also a precedent of not having two teams from the same conference If Ohio St had made it in as #4, they would have run the table

I really don’t have an allegiance to any college football team so Bama getting in doesn’t do much for me either way. Problem I have is that you have a panel of people selecting teams for the playoff and half of them have ties to the SEC. doesn’t seem fair to me. YoloinOhio
Biggest takeaway from this year is probably 2015 Ohio State got screwed. One 3 pt loss in a monsoon to the eventual Big 10 champion Sparty. Couldn’t go to big 10 champ game because of that loss (similar to Bama this year). Defending national champ, too. Sparty had loss to Nebraska and got in. That OSU team was loaded and undoubtedly could have won the title. Willyville Guy
Anyone who watched the B1G championship could see that the game should have been over in the first half, but OSU turnovers and JT missing wide open receivers let Wisconsin hang around. That's how to win a conference and fail an eye test. The SEC had a down year so putting two teams from that conference into the playoff is a bit of a joke to me, but I am not surprised at all to see the Buckeyes left out. D. L. Hot-Flamethrower
The committee got it right. The Iowa loss is what cost OSU in the end and rightfully so.

No argument there. Had OSU really blown the doors off Wisconsin in the B1G game, though, they might have snuck in. The opportunity to do that was there early on, and OSU's failure to take advantage was the nail in the coffin IMO.
