Big C Posted October 27, 2017 Posted October 27, 2017 The only thing I'm concerned about is I don't think we have the cap room next season to re-sign Matthews, Gaines and Kyle Williams. Kyle will retire after this season. Gaines and Matthews won't be expensive.
leonbus23 Posted October 27, 2017 Posted October 27, 2017 He must have really been useless to only get a 6th.
nucci Posted October 27, 2017 Posted October 27, 2017 Ummm, Tom Brady was the 6th pick. So was Seattles QB, whos name escapes me at the moment. Martavias Bryant and Nick OLeary were late picks as well. Its all about scouting and selecting good players from 1st to last pick. Beane will deliver. Russell Wilson.....Brady was 6th round, not 6th pick
stevestojan Posted October 27, 2017 Posted October 27, 2017 There goes the defense He has 8 tackles and one sack this year. Well be ok.
MJS Posted October 27, 2017 Posted October 27, 2017 great, wait a few more years before this team is any good. Any guarantee the ton of young players will all be good? They're pretty good already, and with very little help help Dareus, their highest paid player.
Lurker Posted October 27, 2017 Posted October 27, 2017 @joebuscaglia #Bills GM Beane to me in August: Yeah, any player that's not buying in, we'll find a way to move on without him. Cut off your nose to spite your face. Got it...
26CornerBlitz Posted October 27, 2017 Posted October 27, 2017 @MattHarmon_BYB Marcel Dareus' #NextGenStats Stuff Rate of 10.2% ranks 23rd among 123 interior d-linemen with 40+ run defense snaps this season #Jaguars
Green Lightning Posted October 27, 2017 Posted October 27, 2017 I don't know, with KW being finished next year, all of a sudden we have a huge hole at DT. McBeane keeps creating holes on a team full of holes.
JTO Posted October 27, 2017 Posted October 27, 2017 The only thing I'm concerned about is I don't think we have the cap room next season to re-sign Matthews, Gaines and Kyle Williams. We wont resign them.
Guest K-GunJimKelly12 Posted October 27, 2017 Posted October 27, 2017 Kyle will retire after this season. Gaines and Matthews won't be expensive. I don't know if Kyle is retiring if we make the playoffs. I would doubt it actually.
YoloinOhio Posted October 27, 2017 Posted October 27, 2017 @christrapasso Suspensions and big contract is probably why #Bills only got RD6 pick for Dareus. Just never thought that's all he'd fetch as compensation.
nucci Posted October 27, 2017 Posted October 27, 2017 Kyle will retire after this season. Gaines and Matthews won't be expensive. Gaines is never on the field
Nick the Greek Posted October 27, 2017 Posted October 27, 2017 @mikerodak The Bills will save $5.73 million off their 2017 salary cap and $2.375 million off their 2018 salary cap. 2019-21 years get wiped out. this is good.. very good. Beane will find winners with this money.
HiddenInLight Posted October 27, 2017 Posted October 27, 2017 WGR reporting the pick is conditional.....we got hosed.
Domdab99 Posted October 27, 2017 Posted October 27, 2017 Man o man. The Bills have traded a 3rd overall pick and a 4th overall pick for a 2nd/6th round pick and an oft injured CB. Trust the process. LOL you guys are amazing. What does it matter where they were drafted? They weren't producing. This is a fantastic trade and I love the fact we could potentially get a 5th rounder for it. The help to the cap is a huge bonus, too. I'm amazed how so many in this thread have no clue how the business of football works.
Brianmoorman4jesus Posted October 27, 2017 Posted October 27, 2017 What a waste though thinking of who was taken after this guy in that draft. My god do we ever take the right players? Thank god we have all these picks now though.......
vincec Posted October 27, 2017 Posted October 27, 2017 Jaguars front is awesome. He played very well for Marrone a few years ago. If he can recapture anything close to that then yes, Jacksonville's D will be lights out up front.
JoeF Posted October 27, 2017 Posted October 27, 2017 I will throw out that I don't think the current product on the field got any worse today. The current coaching did not value him and were using him as a depth player. Cut your losses -- don't be tied to where someone was drafted -- that thinking is not a rebuild mode. Dareus was and is an underperforming asset -- you can't base decisions on him turning it around and reaching his massive potential you have to base it on what he has done.
FloridaSnow Posted October 27, 2017 Posted October 27, 2017 https://twitter.com/mikerodak/status/924055101786001408This is what Rodak has on Cap If this is accurate, then it was an incredible move. We save money this year and next year against the cap and are then rid of its effects. Better to pay a price one year than have this fester
