Jobot
They put him on ESPN a couple months back ONE TIME and he bombed in trying to be the 'activist' he set out to be... Seems like he realized he made a passionate decision without thinking it through and now wants to play again.
cba fan
It strikes me as unusual for someone to look into his actual works and give an opinion on someone who states he is trying to do something positive. I'm just trying to figure out your motive. In general though, no, I don't care about anything you think, however , in this case I'm curious. Your facts were wrong. He just started on this new element of activism three months ago. @AdamSchefter WR Anquan Boldin has expressed interest in playing again and Bills have given his agent permission to shop him, per letter ESPN obtained. 7:08 PM - 26 Oct 2017 Bottom line is fans and media don't appreciate being lied to. Especially for a hot button issue like the reason for protests taking place in NFL during anthem right now and the racial tensions from Charlottesville. Protest that has mushroomed into the spotlight even more since Boldin got on the case. (no I do not think he is responsible for that mushroom) Yes I know his foundation is old and for underprivileged kids. It is not a stretch that he would expand it to include his new activism. The activism he apparently is putting on hold just when he would be needed the most to get back on the field for a contender. He is a fraud. I would not give anyone a pass for being fraud. It strikes me just as unusual that anyone else would give him a pass either. As far as looking into a charity financials. I do that anytime I consider a donation to a charity. You should try it. It is an eye opener how little they spend the donations on the intended recipients. Vast majority of donations only pays the salaries of the charity employees and the cost of soliciting donations. Guys don't win the Walter Payton Award in the NFL for being frauds. Sorry. I think he made a mistake walking away from the Bills. And people can criticize him for it. He's not a fraud. He's been known as one of the very best guys in the league for years and years. You read about it all the time. The only reason the Bills signed him was that. And then we traded one of the reasons he came here and he didn't make a good decision. He's not a fraud.

SaviorPeterman
I really don't understand the Boldin story. Does he want to play or not? Why on earth did he sign her in the first place if he doesn't want to be in Buffalo? And if he does, has he not been paying attention to the Bills? If he has something left he would be a major addition to the WR corps. Talk about another primadonna and headcase!
Kelly the Dog
And how can we believe you looked into these financials when the one thing you said, it's been around a few years, was wrong. It's been around 13. I saw that it had raised over a million dollars for one thing, and 1.1m for another issue (I will find the link), plus his yearly underprivileged kid even that raises another 100,000 a year, and he andnhis wife have another foundation where they give 10,000 each to four underprivileged kids to go to college each year. Them electing Walter Payton award winners is like a 3rd grader electing a 1st grade spelling beeOne of the only things the NFL cares about other than money is their PR and image. While they don't do a good job of it sometimes it's paramount to them. The Payton Award is a big thing. VABills
I think he quit on the Bills and I said that a few times. But that said, the Bills could have cut him - walked away from him - after those two weeks, too - with no warning like him - for a good or a crappy reason like him - and he would get no money - and be left high and dry. So what is the diffrence? Not true. As a vet with more than 4 years, had he been on roster for 1 game, he gets paid for whole year.
Kelly the Dog
Not true. As a vet with more than 4 years, had he been on roster for 1 game, he gets paid for whole year. True. This happened in preseason. They can cut him in preseason, he can walk away. Players get game checks in season. If he quit in the middle of the season he wouldn't get game checks. how much does he draw in his non profit? If I had a million I'd start a non profit to make more money and use as a tax shelter jist like these guys. You guys are such dicks that you just automatically accuse athletes of only caring about money and always stealing. While what you say happens in foundations a lot, there are also a ton of guys who do things for the right reasons. Boldin isn't the kind of guy to be in this for a profit. He started the foundation totally out of pocket. Funded it all. Then some corporations saw good stuff he was doing and jumped in, I assume because of his good name. He started it out of pocket. ..easy there Big Dawg and don't mix apples and oranges IMO ...his activism is a great community gesture and very few publish that type of work or their foundations.....BUT....on the other side of the equation is the fact he signed a contract to play football for Buffalo and there was no contingency verbiage about his foundation or activism.....whether he has anything left or not is for another day, but his abrupt "retirement" after Sammy trade and now wanting to come back ELSEWHERE is what people are PO'ed at......shall we call it "Genuine Commitment to Buffalo and Then Wait 101".....where's the beef??.................. As well as create jobs for his hangers-on and family. Spare me these types of nonprofits by a player, even the Kelly Foundation is guilty of this Edited October 27, 2017 by Boyst62

So which players are not under that umbrella when you denounce them in a blanket statement knowing nothing about them. I agree a disgusting proportion of money from foundations is stolen or misused or misappropriated, don't get me wrong. But a ton of them do great stuff, too. TheFunPolice
good for him. Go earn the team a 3rd rounder or better for wasting their time and energy. If it's NE you want to play for it'll cost a 1st rounder.
