JohnC Posted October 27, 2017 Posted October 27, 2017 Cookie probably won't even show up for his own enshrinement. And yes, I know that he's dead. But people come back from the dead all the time. Or so I have heard. He was, however, one of the great backs and personalities in the NFL, and way ahead of his time. Long overdue. At the time he may have been the second best back in pro football behind Jim Brown. He was definitely a personality, a difficult one to deal with.
Best Player Available Posted October 27, 2017 Posted October 27, 2017 Cookie Gilchrist to be Honored on Bills Wall of Fame It's about time!!!!! Can't wait.
Virgil Posted October 27, 2017 Posted October 27, 2017 This means we will lose. Wall of game games get ugly. I wish I could pull a stat, but recent memory is all I got

Helpmenow Posted October 27, 2017 Posted October 27, 2017 Three great seasons gets a spot on the Wall. I don't think he belongs. He sure does and booker does

Kelly the Dog Posted October 28, 2017 Posted October 28, 2017 Butch Byrd should be on the wall Yes!! I watch the games with George, Jr. who is just a great guy.
RevWarRifleman Posted October 28, 2017 Posted October 28, 2017 Glad to see it! Congratulations Cookie. He was beast mode way before Mashawn.
Saxum Posted October 28, 2017 Posted October 28, 2017 Considering number of games he played it should be on wall of restroom.
machine gun kelly Posted October 28, 2017 Posted October 28, 2017 Far overdue. I'm not old enough to have watched him live but the clips of him were fantastic. Too bad Sagan ran him out of town.

The Dean Posted October 28, 2017 Posted October 28, 2017 Considering number of games he played it should be on wall of restroom. Bob Kalsu played one season. Van Miller never suited up (would have been a helluva waterboy, though). Cookie's value to the history of the Bills is far greater than 3-years of service would imply.

Bob Kalsu is a special case as you very well know.

I think the criteria is how meaningful the player was to the team. Cookie was meaningful.
Helpmenow Posted October 29, 2017 Posted October 29, 2017 And how many on this board actually saw him play, less than 1%
