In no universe does Cookie Gilchrist's paltry achievements come close to the shining star - the beacon of light - that was Kyle Orton's 12 games as a Bill.

But people come back from the dead all the time. Or so I have heard. He was, however, one of the great backs and personalities in the NFL, and way ahead of his time. Long overdue.

His rushing totals were 1,096, 979, and 981 in 14-game seasons, and his per-game average with Buffalo was 72.8 yards per game. But it goes way beyond the stats.
