JM2009 Posted October 14, 2017 Posted October 14, 2017 Why? A Hyde/Shady 1-2 punch would be great. Much better than Tolbert. Much better. Still have to fix the run blocking.
Captain Murica Posted October 15, 2017 Posted October 15, 2017 (edited) Hyde and 7th for Miller. Jk Dont kill me. Edited October 15, 2017 by Captain Murica
Kirby Jackson Posted October 15, 2017 Posted October 15, 2017 I would absolutely deal a late round pick for him. Hyde is a good back. This team lacks playmakers. You can use him and Shady like Atlanta does. It will keep them fresher. Just give Hyde every touch that Tolbert has been getting.

Fine with a day 3 pick to actually solidify our only viable strength on offense. If we have any chance of going anywhere it's keeping McCoy healthy, having anything behind him in case he goes down and riding the defense. Running back stands a better chance than WR for contributing quickly too

He's playing for his next contract as a 2018 UFA I doubt he'd want to get 10-12 carries a game behind Shady on one of the weakest running teams in the league. So he'd likely be just a rental...

Bangarang Posted October 15, 2017 Posted October 15, 2017 Why? A Hyde/Shady 1-2 punch would be great. Much better than Tolbert. Maybe but Im sick of seeing this team dump resources into RBs. A Hyde rental does nothing for this team long term and likely does nothing for us this year either.

BringBackOrton Posted October 15, 2017 Posted October 15, 2017 (edited) So you'd rather have a 7th round pick than 1/2 a year of Hyde? Not meI don't think he's available for a 7th. I think they are looking for a third. Edited October 15, 2017 by jmc12290
Kirby Jackson Posted October 15, 2017 Posted October 15, 2017 I don't think he's available for a 7th. I think they are looking for a third. That's a different story. They aren't getting a 3rd for a FA.

He's bound for a late third/fourth as a comp pick if he walks. They are hoping a playoff contender loses an RB and decides to over pay to make a run. IMO. Edited October 15, 2017 by jmc12290

EasternOHBillsFan Posted October 15, 2017 Posted October 15, 2017 Can he play WR? He plays more as a RB than Sammy does at WR
BuffaloBillyG Posted October 15, 2017 Posted October 15, 2017 Can he play WR? He can line up in the backfield freeing McCoy to split out wide more often. With McCoys speed it may even help keep safeties out of the box for Hyde to have running room. So, indirectly...he would possibly help the WR position.

I may be out of touch on how Hyde is viewed but what kind of deal is he projected for? That seems very high.
2003Contenders Posted October 15, 2017 Posted October 15, 2017 IIRC Whaley tried to trade up in the 2nd round to get him a few years ago.
CanadianFan Posted October 15, 2017 Posted October 15, 2017 can we get him for a 7th round? Let's do this!
