BeginnersMind Posted October 15, 2017 Posted October 15, 2017 (edited) Tyrod Taylor is black? I didnt know that Tyrod better than Flutie? Silliness And yet the numbers don't lie. Flutie's career numbers are 160 yards per game passing, 18 yards per game rushing, weak TD/INT ratio, 54% completion. Fun to watch but not a really good QB. Objectively, I understand he was the last QB to take the Bills to the playoffs (Miracle season post-season bid goes to him) but he was not a great QB. That Bills era was led by Wade's defense. CommonCents Posted October 15, 2017 Posted October 15, 2017 (edited) Flutie is a terrible example. That Bills team went to the playoffs which is all fans want. You are taking stats from a different era of football and they don't help either. Peterman was a late round pick like TT. As was outlined on this site before preseason even begun, Peterman will have little opportunity to take the Bills job. He is a rookie behind Taylor and if TT failed to impress a new bigger, better prospect would be drafted, perhaps whiter, perhaps blacker. If TT tore the league up he would have solidified his own spot and ensured Peterman a seat on the bench for future years. That is the life of a late round QB prospect. This is how the QB position is viewed, if you aren't getting the job done teams attempt to bring in someone better. Color is just an excuse, white/black if you are not good then look behind you because that's where your replacement is sitting. Unless you put a choke hold on the starting position like Brady did then as a late round QB prospect you will spend your entire career silencing doubters and looking behind you. That's the life in the NFL. The doubt was created by where the QB was drafted not by the color of his skin. Edited October 15, 2017 by Commonsense
stony Posted October 15, 2017 Posted October 15, 2017 The naked bootleg versus Jacksonville?? The Flu-Man kept it so Thurman didn't get "his." Classic racist move.
Scott7975 Posted October 15, 2017 Posted October 15, 2017 The one comment hits the nail on the head: 1-11 in game winning comebacks. Is it a higher standard or is he just not good? Excuses, excuses, excuses. Imo Packers are 0-35 with Aaron Rodgers at QB when trailing by more than one point in the fourth quarter against a team with a winning record. Rodgers has a 10-34 record at 4QC opportunities. Only two of the 10 wins came against teams with a winning record (2014 Cowboys in Dez Caught It game, 2015 Seahawks), and both of those were 1-point deficits erased early in the quarter.

xRUSHx Posted October 15, 2017 Posted October 15, 2017 Unbelievabe. A pot stirring topic that is so common with today's media. Tyrod is the one stirring the pot by calling Buffalo fans racist.
bobobonators Posted October 15, 2017 Posted October 15, 2017 Is 10-34 greater than 1-11? Asking for a friend. Rodgers is also going to be probably the 2nd best QB of all time when he retires. No one is even putting TT in the same universe. But you deflect the point made in order to perpetuate the nonsense.
nedboy7 Posted October 15, 2017 Posted October 15, 2017 Tyrod is the one stirring the pot by calling Buffalo fans racist. lol, Is that what he said?
DaBillsFanSince1973 Posted October 15, 2017 Posted October 15, 2017 Tyrod is the one stirring the pot by calling Buffalo fans racist. did I miss something? he called bills fans racist?
xRUSHx Posted October 15, 2017 Posted October 15, 2017 (edited) lol, Is that what he said? He was criticizing fans with the race card, his fans are Buffalo fans so yes I see it as a direct finger point at Buffalo. Quote from article"Bills QB Tyrod Taylor believes he's 'held to a higher standard' because he's African-American" Who is the one holding him to a higher standard? Well he works in Buffalo so that points the finger at Buffalo Edited October 15, 2017 by xRUSHx

Thanks for your hard work here. Facts are always the best way to clear the air of flatulence-like opinion...
Brianmoorman4jesus Posted October 15, 2017 Posted October 15, 2017 .500 is a winning record and Rogers brought them back against the Cowboys last week in the 4th. That was literally the most recent example available so without trying I will change the total of that record. Im not going to go back abd find more. Just figured I would put it in there since it only took 2 sec of thought.

stony Posted October 15, 2017 Posted October 15, 2017 Tyrod is the one stirring the pot by calling Buffalo fans racist. This was your conclusion to the piece?. A lot of butthurt Bills fans here.
C.Biscuit97 Posted October 15, 2017 Posted October 15, 2017 Buffalo has some racist, idiot fans (see PPP for example). But honestly, I think Taylor has been treated as well as any qb in recent memory. Fitz and Losman got way more criticism. I actually am impressed with Bills fans because race is never really part of the Tyrod conversation.
Scott7975 Posted October 15, 2017 Posted October 15, 2017 Tyrod is a better version of Flutie. (Completion percentage much higher, rushing 60% higher, TD/Int ratio astronomically higher, yards per game only a little less) But somehow Flutie was beloved by many while Tryod at best gets a tepid, "He's OK for now." Not sure it's racism but it doesn't make sense. Flutie found a way to win a game at the end quite a bit. Tyrod hasn't really done that.
Call_Of_Ktulu Posted October 15, 2017 Posted October 15, 2017 This is good news, this means Peterman is pushing him in practice and Taylor knows the only way to stay on the field for a few more games is to play the race card.
1st Ammendment NoMas Posted October 15, 2017 Posted October 15, 2017 http://billswire.usatoday.com/2017/10/14/bills-tyrod-taylor-believes-hes-held-to-a-higher-standard-because-hes-african-american/ Last year it was the media's fault when he sucked. Now he's being held to higher standard because he's black ? He almost makes as many excuses as the fanatical taylorheads here. Try not being at the bottom of qb ranking lists. Leave the race nonsense alone. "Haters" disappear when you're actually good at your craft like Cam, Jameis, Watson, and Wilson. Unreal. He should hold himself to a higher standard because he's a pro. The sport is dominated by black athletes anyway, so why would they be prejudiced against themselves. How about you play well TT and stop making stupid excuses.

But you deflect the point made in order to perpetuate the nonsense. Maybe you shouldn't compare him to Rodgers then? Seems silly to invite a comparison between 1-11 and 10-34.
