BringBackFergy
Heres your stats: Tyrod is 6ft ( not 6ft 1 inch as he claims) Our O linemen are: Seantrel 6ft 7 Cordy 6ft 6 Dawkins 6ft 6 Wood 6ft 4 Ducasse 6ft 6 So Tyrods Height to O Line Ratio is -4 inches on average. Look at the winning teams this year and over the last five years. The standard QB to o-line ratio is -1 to zero. (The higher the QB height to oline ratio the better). That being said, our oline is wayyyy too tall for our QB. Whats the answer? Draft and acquire shorter and squattier olineman. Ideally we need olineman 5ft8inches to 5ft10inches at 320-330 pounds. Heres why: 1) Shorter O Lineman, then Tyrod can see better. Same with TEs. Shorter the better. 2) Before anyone says shorter guys arent able to manage an o line, think of this: back in 1976, the Dolphins had a shorter oline and dominated. 3) You ever hear the expression low man wins???? Well, lets put our money where our mouth is and get a head start. Low man (shorter man) is already 40% of the way there...and if the lower/shorter/squattier man wins, I see no downside. So Im pretty sure the shorter the olineman, the better. Flame away if you want but the stats speak for themselves.

K D
I mean a guy with lower center of gravity. Low man wins. There's a reason lineman are tall. They have a longer reach to keep the defender from getting to them. Low man doesn't win, otherwise everyone would be 5 ft tall haha

And why do people say low man wins if it isnt true? It is. So Ill stay with that concept. Plus, Ritchie is 6ft3inch so you see my point.

Cripple Creek
Off topic, apologies in advance, it should also be noted that an average sized RB will be through a hole created by less tall offensive linemen more quickly than tall ones. It's geometry.

DL are taught to fire low off the ball to drive back the OL. The OL don't want to let the DL get to their body though so that's where the long arms come into play. If it's short yardage or goal line straight ahead blocking that's different, you do want the OL to fire off the line low but most blocking isn't pads popping blocking like that. Pass blocking is very much a finesse game where long arms and good footwork matter the most
vincec
Awesome. How will they allow him to see over the 6'-8" defensive lineman? Maybe have the Lilliputian OL punch them in the groin so the double over? Edited October 11, 2017 by vincec
BillsFan4
Sounds good. But how do we get the other teams we play to draft/sign short defensive linemen, too? lol Edited October 11, 2017 by BillsFan4
