Foreigner Posted October 10, 2017 Posted October 10, 2017 Only Trubisky's first start, but sometimes need to be careful for what we wish for.
boyst Posted October 10, 2017 Posted October 10, 2017 One start, his first start, in his first year, in a poor offensive system ... Let's not just jump to conclusions.
Real McClappy Posted October 10, 2017 Posted October 10, 2017 Only Trubisky's first start, but sometimes need to be careful for what we wish for. And you be saying the same crap Peyton's first year were he finished 3-13 and had more INT's than TD's right?
GunnerBill Posted October 10, 2017 Posted October 10, 2017 We had Watson written off after his first start on the road in Cincy... that looks foolish now. Goff was written off after half a season playing whatever Jeff Fisher thinks passes for offense under a coordinator so in demand he now coaches the Bills' Tight Ends... suddenly in a proper scheme with proper coaching the kid looks like he can play.
CDogg20 Posted October 10, 2017 Posted October 10, 2017 His first throw was a dime, that comeback on the sideline. I always preferred Watson though.
oldmanfan Posted October 10, 2017 Posted October 10, 2017 We can use one game to judge if it's our QB, but if it's another guy, especially one we could have drafted, the one game us just one game and shouldn't be judged.
TheFunPolice Posted October 10, 2017 Posted October 10, 2017 We can't use two seasons and change to judge a veteran QB, so how can we use 1 game to judge a rookie?
reddogblitz Posted October 10, 2017 Posted October 10, 2017 (edited) He's a bust. I think his cieling dropped a little bit last night. Seriously though, he made a lot of rookie mistakes. Edited October 10, 2017 by reddogblitz
Mark Vader Posted October 10, 2017 Posted October 10, 2017 He's a bust. I think his cieling dropped a little bit last night. Seriously though, he made a lot of rookie mistakes. He should change his name back to Mitch.
cba fan Posted October 10, 2017 Posted October 10, 2017 He did not look as bad as Goff and now Goff looks ok.
GunnerBill Posted October 10, 2017 Posted October 10, 2017 Seriously though, he made a lot of rookie mistakes. Of course he did. It was his debut as a rookie. You cannot expect these guys to be perfect out of the gate. He made some plays too. I think he will get there.
Bangarang Posted October 10, 2017 Posted October 10, 2017 Anyone going to mention who he had to throw the ball to? Or does that kind of context only matter when we are talking about Tyrod?
26CornerBlitz Posted October 10, 2017 Posted October 10, 2017 still better than Glennon Trubisky flashed big time talent last night. He needs experience and a better supporting cast.
CommonCents Posted October 10, 2017 Posted October 10, 2017 Trubisky flashed big time talent last night. He needs experience and a better supporting cast. Agreed. Anyone saying he didn't show some promise is either in denial or they didn't watch the game.
C.Biscuit97 Posted October 10, 2017 Posted October 10, 2017 He has better WRs at UNC. I liked Watson and Mahomes better than him but he showed some ability. But much better to have a 7 year vet who gets to 200 yards passing every few games. Much more exciting.
Foreigner Posted October 10, 2017 Author Posted October 10, 2017 Of course he shows promise, but without a OL, WR's, and apparently a OC where are you? Do you think Brady would have the career he has had without the above. After almost giving away Darby, Gilmour, Ragland, Watkins, Woods, Goodwin (along with Gilleslee and Hogan earlier) we have to hope this unproven group makes the right decision on not only a QB, but on the rest of the cast of players. So far, as good as the coaching has been and the team overachieving, personnel decisions have been poor. The graveyard is full of failed QB's as we all know, and finally if Taylor throws for 128 yards against Tampa, you know it is a given he will be getting killed and new threads on both Peterman and next years draft will be all over this board.
DriveFor1Outta5 Posted October 10, 2017 Posted October 10, 2017 Far too early to reach conclusions on Trubisky. I didn't care for any of the 2017 Draft QB's, I'll stay with that until I'm proven otherwise.
