djp14150 Posted October 10, 2017 Posted October 10, 2017 It's about teams stockpiling long term prospects. It will create long term imbalance if teams payers may want to play fir can sign and keep players on a roster. Thus is why they have a practice squad so teams can develop players but they can't be protected from another team. It's the same reason why IR rules were changed that say a player is done for the season. Teams would stock project players on the IR until injuries occured then activate them or they will keep them on the IR to develop them.
NoSaint Posted October 10, 2017 Posted October 10, 2017 I think we'll see it go up to 60 sometime real soon as owners discuss at the next league meetings the explosion of player injures. Have there been many more? the majority of players would be for more jobs. only the minority "elite" players may want less I'd venture the guy making just above the league minimum get hit harder than the elite qb. A guy like Andre Holmes loses cash before tom Brady does in this
