Chandler#81 Posted October 10, 2017 Posted October 10, 2017 http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/20968918/ya-tittle-man-iconic-image Beautiful story. I'm old enough to remember this iconic picture when it was new, and it's been a lasting image of my favorite sport ever since. Thanks for sharing, \GBiD/! RIP, Yelberton Abraham. Thank you for the memories.

hemma Posted October 10, 2017 Posted October 10, 2017 (edited) I won the PPK for my age group in my little town back in 1962, which was the 1st year we competed. I think it was the 2nd year for the PPK.. Y.A. Tittle was supposed to be at the dinner to hand out the awards. Man, I was nervous/excited. He was on the Giants that year and I think every father and son in our area was a Giant fan. The whole town must have been jammed into that building, waiting for a chance to see Y.A. Tittle. Biggest thing .... maybe ever. Big snowstorm, cancelled flight announced while we all sat there, waiting.. Oh well, I almost shook his hand. Peace, Y.A. Edited October 10, 2017 by hemma

hemma Posted October 10, 2017 Posted October 10, 2017 PPK? Fixed, thanks. That extra P seemed so convenient and I was on a roll.
RevWarRifleman Posted October 10, 2017 Posted October 10, 2017 RIP YA. In the '62 championship game, he got hit so hard it cracked his helmet. It's in a glass case in the HOF in Canton. ***The helmet that is, not YA
Formerly Allan in MD Posted October 10, 2017 Posted October 10, 2017 That 49er offense was a machine and YA was the driver. Lots of memories.
