It does not have to be a college offence though as I stated in my previous post. Just pick a few things that Tyrod does best and use it more. If it isn't broke don't fix it.

You implement it because this is the hand dennison has been given. He has a mobile QB who is very dangerous in a zone read offence and out of the pocket.

But yet he tries to make him a pocket passer and completely ignores the bills run scheme from previous years.

It is just beyond stupid to me.

Seattle does not ask Russell Wilson to be something he is not. Cowboys don't ask Dak. Houston is not asking Deshaun Watson. Because those offensive coordinators and coaches are playing towards the strength of their QBS.

Out of curiosity what do you like about Dennison's offence, even if we did have a top 10 passing QB?

By "college offense" I just mean an offense that uses the read-option play on a consistent basis and doesn't require the quarterback to make all of his reads throughout the entire field before he scrambles and runs. See: 2015 and 2016 Buffalo Bills. I'm not literally talking Rich Rodriguez's run-option system or Mike Leach's Air Raid here.

If it were solely up to Dennison and 2017 was declared to be the last NFL season ever then I'm sure Dennison would design play after play for Taylor to run all over the field. Firing Dennison would accomplish absolutely nothing.

What do I like about the Shanahan/Kubiak/Dennison offense if we had a Top 10 passing QB? Well, I like that it's a proven commodity.

The passing game I can understand to a point but I see no excuse for taking a top 5 running game for 2 straight years and turning it into this.

I never once said to do a read option on a consistent basis, I think you are misunderstanding what I am trying to say sir.

When is the last time shanahan or kubiak or dennison did well? in 2012? That type of offence is way outdated.

Rex Ryan also used to be known as the master of defence about 3 or 4 years ago and we all know how fast the league caught up to his schemes

In 2014 Kubiak and Dennison improved the Ravens offense from 30th to 9th in efficiency. The last two seasons they've worked with a disabled Peyton, Brock Osweiler and some guy named Trevor Siemian.

Rex sucked because he was incapable of adapting. Maybe Dennison is too but there's no way of knowing that yet.

Now guys, remember to not hire Rico after the bye week. We got a slate of easier defenses to play against.

  • Bucs
  • Raiders
  • Jets
  • Saints
  • Chargers

Easier competition SHOULD cure this offense of its ills. Until they face Chiefs in Arrowhead on Nov. 26. So don't let the results in the next 5 games fool you. We've seen what it will do against better defenses in NFL. And it doesn't have any answer for them.

I guess we will agree to disagree. I personally think he is a joke but I guess only time will tell

Last year team's stacked 8 in the box a lot as well but the Bills could basically ran it at will.

It is inexcusable to go from #2 rush offence in 2015 and #1 in 2016 to terrible. How do you believe it is not scheme based on what you have seen so far?

Team's had to account for tyrods legs last year, but they don't even have to anymore. They don't ever use him as a running threat option which is why I believe there are barely any holes for Shady. All of a sudden incognito and wood can't run block?.. Nope, it is our idiot vanilla o coordinator

I think they've actually managed to do it (amazing! I know). They took what Tyrod does best almost out of the equation by not using the threat of him running, less misdirection, etc. "Ground and Pound" was at least a little clever in ways....and we could run the ball! Now, I'm not saying we should feature an offense with a running QB lest he eventually gets blown up, but that's how we've gone more vanilla IMO.

....which to me is Asinine 101......never going to make him a pocket passer.......and negating the one primary factor that has gotten him this far which is his "wheels/mobility" because Dennison is a staunch "system" guy?......if it is the "system stupid", he sure as hell is not in their long term plans, so why sacrifice "W's" now to prove it?.....shades of Steve Fairchild returneth....

Except the ground game wasn't vanilla last year or the year before. Part of the reason it was so effective last year (in my opinion) was due to the lack of predictability.

That's what I was trying to say. It was running, but it was clever in scheme to do what........would work! Now, do you want a running QB as your basis, and how much? We are not maximizing what we've got, because it's not what we want to do on offense. It's a very familiar "Rex-ian" approach, but on the other side of the ball.

The last couple games we saw Tyrod rolling out more, some naked bootlegs and such, which I think is a good thing. One thing I have noticed is that Tyrod is far more hesitant to take off running. I think that is a coaching thing simply based on the fact that in preseason we saw Dennison forcing Tyrod to stay in the pocket and throw the ball or take a sack. It seems they are discouraging him from taking off running. I don't like that on those naked bootlegs. I wish he would run them rather than short pass. If the deep ball isn't there, just run.

When he is in the pocket, I want him to pass to a receiver or throw the ball away or hit a hole in front for whatever gain is available if the hole is there. But outside the pocket, I want Tyrod to run more often. Many times he is choosing a short pass - like less than 5 yards instead of running. I say it is Dennnison stopping him. In past years, he runs there.

Let him use his talents so that the next team coming in has to worry about him running the ball.

I also want the Bills to take many more shots deep down the field even if they don't complete them. It is much harder to defend against an offense when the QB can beat you either running or throwing deep. It becomes a mental challenge for a defense and forces mistakes from them.

I recall that even with other coaches, the Bills were generally bad on offense in games where they didn't attempt many deep shots. And they were best in games where they did attempt them even if they didn't complete them. I don't think that is purely coincidence.

To me, a coordinator is not going to solve this. We've seen these low output offensive games from the Bills team a handful of times a season since Tyrod got here in 2015.

Without a passing game it's hard to bank on just running over everyone all the time.

What are we talking about here? Running more of the Shotgun like Chan? Putting 6 on the line, or running with double tight ends?

I know one thing that's the same with these Bills. They hover around 0.500 like a bunch of Bills teams before them.

I mean ideally/realistically with McDermotts vision on offense, how many games are the Bills going to keep winning 17-14?

It's puts a lot of pressure on to never turn the ball over, play shutdown defense, McCoy always near 100 yards. All with no real backups or depth at skill positions.

After seeing the All-22 I retract my call for Dennison's head. See the write up. When you see the whole field and the coaches tape, the offense had some well-designed plays, it was a product of Tyrod playing poorly and the offense as a whole missing assignments and not reading the defense.

I like Dennison.

He's got a WR who can't catch and a QB who can't throw, which means teams are stacking the box and killing the run game.

How the hell is any of this his fault?

cause they were in the same situation last year and they still leafy the league in rushing
