Marty McFly Posted October 9, 2017 Posted October 9, 2017 worse??? Brandon marshall, sterling shepard, beckham, evan ingram.... Are you on drugs? This. And... Look at the New York Giants receiving core, it's a lot worse IMHO and yet Eli finds a way to get at least 1 TD passing each game. I'm tired of the TT excuse makers as good QBs find ways to get the most of their WRs. What are you stupid or just trolling? Theres no way you can really eat the spoonfull of sht you jus tried to feed the board.

LMAO You sure have a way with words. As the original post was asking what the Bills could do this year to try to fix this offense now, here is what I would suggest. 1) Take the same advice Lynn got from Bill Parcells last year - Tear half the plays out of the playbook - especially the most complicated ones that require everyone to be on the same page and require the most precise timing. 2) Get the starting QB more involved in choosing which plays to run/leave in the playbook - based on his opinion of whether he thinks the offense is likely to execute it 3) Get the starting running back more involved in choosing which running plays to leave in the playbook - based on his opinion of whether he thinks the offense is likely to execute it 4) Add a handful of ridiculously basic/simple running plays that every player on that team has been running since high school - but run them out of the shotgun instead of under center. 5) Change the focus of the offense back to trying to outplay the other player physically rather than trying to out-scheme or outsmart the opponent. 6) Call a lot more QB draws and read options. 7) Make an effort to try to stretch the field once or more on every series (more often on first down) even if those plays are not consistently resulting in big completions or touchdowns. Straight Hucklebuck Posted October 13, 2017 Posted October 13, 2017 The Head Coach already told you, watch the tape, find what went wrong, work hard and always get better.
GoBills808 Posted October 13, 2017 Posted October 13, 2017 Has anyone mentioned the process yet? And maybe that it should be trusted and respected?
Simon Says Posted October 13, 2017 Posted October 13, 2017 I dont see the Bills letting go of those draft picks, but they might be willing to trade someone like Washington or Ducasse, or Miller...a PS promotion or free agent signing is possible (Barnidge?) but can the Bills acclimate a new receiver in one week?
uticaclub Posted October 13, 2017 Posted October 13, 2017 We were 28th in passing in 2015, 30th in 2016 and 31st this year. Tyrod is not a threat in the passing game and never will be, defenses will continue to put 9 in the box on 3rd and long. Until we get a better QB our offense will be not be effective.
stevewin Posted October 13, 2017 Posted October 13, 2017 Wish they would keep/incorporate some number of bread and butter running plays that had the most success with the last couple years. If you don't want to scrap your new stupid wide zone blocking, at least have some number of plays, with their specific blocking scheme, that you've had success with and this line has shown they can execute. You can do that and still have some of your wide zone plays as well as the west coast passing offense
xRUSHx Posted October 13, 2017 Posted October 13, 2017 Let's put it this way. Wouldn't you think if the coaches thought that Peterman was better than Tyrod and could do what they want better than Tyrod, that he would be starting instead of Tyrod? I mean, they get to see him practice every day, know him better than anyone in the media or fanbase does. Beating our heads to defend or bash Tyrod is played out and tiring don't you say? When the Bills find a franchise worthy QB only then QB won't be all over fans minds. It's been a problem for so long you would think OBD would spend 4 or 5 drafts to get a couple to make sure they have the best chance to land one not constantly using other teams backups for the starter roll here. It all starts with the QB without one this team isn't going very far. So my opinion on this is nobody is safe on offense but to fix it you need a QB to run it, without it your driving a Prius at a NASCAR race.

BillnutinHouston Posted October 13, 2017 Posted October 13, 2017 Study last year's offensive tape hard and work in more of last year's running game. Focus on a few key plays and call them in a game. More power runs with Richie pulling a lot more - let him use his strength. Run more plays that implement a moving pocket - let Tyrod use his strength. Use some misdirection in the run game. A reverse or two will do wonders to keeping a defense honest.
mjt328 Posted October 13, 2017 Posted October 13, 2017 (edited) 1. Go back to last year's blocking scheme 2. Let Tyrod do what he does best 3. Wait for our receiving threats to get healthy 4. Wait until the offseason to upgrade talent But we all know that won't happen. So I guess the best plan is to just hope our staff lasts 3-4 years in order to get the right talent in place. I'm done with firing coordinators and coaches. We need continuity at some point in this franchise's miserable existence, or we are just spinning our wheels. Yes, Rick Dennison is clearly screwing up this offense, due to his ridiculous insistence on running this terrible zone blocking crap. But it's likely that Dennison would just get replaced by another stubborn clown who crams his system down our players throats. I've pretty much given up on coaches in the NFL. None of them know how to adapt to the talent on the roster. They all just run what they know and are perfectly content standing in awe as Belichick and the Patriots whoop their @$$es year after year. Yet they led the league in rushing and put up a lot of points the last two seasons with TT. The scheme needs to be changed and better WRs.
ndirish1978 Posted October 13, 2017 Posted October 13, 2017 Good QBs throw WRs open. When a QB holds the ball and doesn't throw it's all on the QB. The entire offense fails when The QB is a deer in headlights. The QB controls the offense and moves the chains. Teams game plan to stop the run and force Tyrod to Throw? Why? Because it's proven when pushed to be a QB he fails. Your love for a backup QB talent is foolish. Keep pounding that round peg in a square hole and this team will end up where many thought they would this season, 6 wins at best. Very little actual value in this post. The likelihood of changing the team's starting QB is nil right now. Whining and going on and on and on about how you're unhappy with it doesn't provide any ideas, it's just "look at me" complaining. go back to last year's blocking scheme Zone blocking does not seem to be working. The lack of success in the run game is absolutely Castillo's fault.
Augie Posted October 13, 2017 Posted October 13, 2017 Do what works. Forget the rest. We have done to the offense what Rex did to the defense.

JM2009 Posted October 13, 2017 Posted October 13, 2017 Do what works. Forget the rest. We have done to the offense what Rex did to the defense. This pretty much sums it up. And facing weaker defenses coming up should help a lot.
HuSeYiN_NYC Posted October 13, 2017 Posted October 13, 2017 Free Shady. He's imprisoned in this offense. Sad to say that a running back is the best player we have on offense but we're used to that by now. Fix the run game and then mediocre to below average TT will start to look like a decent QB. Also I agree that Banyard deserves a shot to show what he can do. Banyard can find the holes in the middle while shady always looks to run outside. Tolbert just do what you were born to do and just block or, sign up for Dancing With The Stars. Im ok with Oleary at TE. PS WR should be brought up to 53 man roster (at least by now it should of been done already) Eric Wood and Incognito need to call an Oline meeting and light some fire under these dudes asses If the defense keeps playing the way it's been, we really only need good Oline play n we will come out with a W in most games. On a side note, i really want to know what Ducasse has over these coaches. Is he holding one of their kids for ransom? How does he get playing time being as bad as he is?

Good o-line play is the key to building a dominant offense. You can't have a dominant offense without very good offensive line play. And when your offensive line sucks, well, chances are your offense is going to suck. The Bills haven't had a good pass blocking offensive line in many years. As far as Ducasse goes, as bad as he sucks, he was one of the better guys last week - at least in the run game. What does that say about the other guys? Yikes!
SlimShady'sSpaceForce Posted October 13, 2017 Posted October 13, 2017 (edited) Get a real passing QB. One that doesn't hold onto the ball too long and takes unnecessary sacks. Edited October 13, 2017 by ShadyBillsFan
