Orchard Park, N.Y. -- During the week leading up to the Buffalo Bills' Week 5 game against the Cincinnati Bengals, Sean McDermott repeatedly expressed confidence in rookie linebacker Matt Milano.

He was ready for his first NFL start, McDermott insisted. The Bills' first-year coach hand-picked Milano for his scheme and was ready to see him in action. A day after Milano played 62-percent of the Bills' defensive snaps in a 20-16 loss to the Bengals, McDermott seemed impressed.
