BuffAlone Posted October 6, 2017 Posted October 6, 2017 Looking forward to seeing the kid get his chance. Loved him in college, but worried about his size/ability to hold up to bigger competition. Hopefully he can help against the run game....or at least not be a liability.
PaattMaann Posted October 6, 2017 Posted October 6, 2017 None of that will help him on Sunday in Cincinnati. Let's hope he's up to the task especially against the run game. thats why we have big fat DL in front of him, Milano is just 1/11 baby, trust the process!
26CornerBlitz Posted October 6, 2017 Author Posted October 6, 2017 thats why we have big fat DL in front of him, Milano is just 1/11 baby, trust the process! Still has to make the right reads to be in position to make plays. Let's hope he plays well.
hemma Posted October 6, 2017 Posted October 6, 2017 Humber isn't a big guy either. I'm more worried about him missing a call and having to watch Barnard zip by him.
Brianmoorman4jesus Posted October 6, 2017 Posted October 6, 2017 Humber has been very good. People were very excited for Hodges and the Bills seemed to think they are fine without him. Hopefully that means this kid can play. Guess we will find out.
Mat68 Posted October 6, 2017 Posted October 6, 2017 Can he make the one on one tackle vs NFL runningbacks. That is going to story here. If he struggles I could see them going to the guy from the CFL.
Boatdrinks Posted October 6, 2017 Posted October 6, 2017 trust the process This has quickly become a phrase i could do without hearing / reading ever again.
Billsfansinceday1 Posted October 6, 2017 Posted October 6, 2017 I wish the young man well. That makes 4 starters from this year's draft. Not too bad.
I'm Spartacus Posted October 6, 2017 Posted October 6, 2017 This has quickly become a phrase i could do without hearing / reading ever again. this phrase will die out. trust me - and the process.
Boatdrinks Posted October 6, 2017 Posted October 6, 2017 I wish the young man well. That makes 4 starters from this year's draft. Not too bad. Just because they are starting doesn't mean they are good. It's somewhat out of necessity after dumping players and not signing good replacements. We will see if he can play at a high level. I'm skeptical.
Over 29 years of fanhood Posted October 6, 2017 Posted October 6, 2017 @JoeBuscaglia #Bills HC McDermott, when talking about Matt Milano: "Those are the type of the LBs we look for in terms of the space players, athletic..." Milano will make his first start Sunday at WLB in place of the injured Ramon Humber. I honestly think Milano has chance to grab hold of this WLB job & not look back this year. Wrote more about it here: http://www.wkbw.com/sports/bills/joe-b-5-buffalo-bills-practice-notes-10_4_17- The article said Humber has been mediocre at best. I'm no expert to be sure. But it looked like he was in on a lot of plays flying around, making tackles. Now if this guy comes in and looks just as good... well ... I'm going to be giddy- buying a McProcess jersey
YoloinOhio Posted October 7, 2017 Posted October 7, 2017 (edited) Related to Sonny Milano of the CBJ? Pretty sure Sonny is from Long Island and Matt said he had family there Edited October 7, 2017 by YoloinOhio
BillsBytheBay Posted October 7, 2017 Posted October 7, 2017 I mean, don't we desperately need cover LBs? Especially against the TE's in the league and Gronk over in NE? I get his size limits him here, but wouldn't it make more sense to adapt certain schemes to this ability if that's really where his strengths are? with Brown and Lorax at the other two spots... sounds like exactly what we need.
TigerJ Posted October 7, 2017 Posted October 7, 2017 Reports say he has a high motor and flies to the ball wherever it is. Not a fan of his size, but if he shows promise then we can at least have a solid low-end starter to replace the aging Humber. He's not really any smaller than Humber.
BuffAlone Posted October 7, 2017 Posted October 7, 2017 He's not really any smaller than Humber.223 lbs is on the smaller size. Hope he can gain about 15 more lbs on his frame. He's very spindly at the core, which is gonna get him pushed around in the run game....
26CornerBlitz Posted October 8, 2017 Author Posted October 8, 2017 Okay kid. Show us something today.
26CornerBlitz Posted October 9, 2017 Author Posted October 9, 2017 Milano didn't look at all out of place today.
John from Riverside Posted October 9, 2017 Posted October 9, 2017 Milano didn't look at all out of place today. Frankly after watching the replay I am excited about him....he is athletic and around the ball while Humber is a vet. He also looks like he has the frame to add some muscule.
26CornerBlitz Posted October 9, 2017 Author Posted October 9, 2017 @PFF Grades and key stats from the Bengals win over the Bills https://www.profootballfocus.com/news/pro-refocused-cincinnati-bengals-20-buffalo-bills-16/ LB Matt Milano, 86.5 overall grade Making his first ever start after seeing his first NFL action last week, Milano filled in admirably this week for the injured Ramon Humber. Milano had two stops in run defense against the Bengals and his 87.0 run defense grade trailed only Hughes for the team lead this weekend. *Grades are subject to change upon review
